Hi everyone I am taking A&P I this January as well. I also have a very hard teacher and it is great to find a site where I can get some support.

Hi! I'm very nervous and excited to finally starting A & P I. I have prior degrees in business (BBA and MBA) which means I am pretty much starting from scratch with science courses. There is not an accelerated program at my area, so I'm taking pre-reqs at a local community school and then hope to get in at a 2 year BSN program. I'm also taking Chem 1 and Nutrition this semester so I will have my hands full. I really admire some of you with small children and those that work during this process. I'm 46 and have a daughter in college, a son in 6th grade and aging parents that I try and help with and that is about more than I can handle.
I am scared about A & P. I signed up for the hardest teacher though because I've heard she really prepares you for nuring school. I hope I didn't make a mistake. I start Jan 8 and already have my books but it is very intimidating to look through.
I'm 51 so you don't have to worry about age being a factor. I work and just finished A&P I. Basically, I found for myself and most of the students who attended with me is, you get out what you put in. This isn't a course where you study when you feel like it. For me I found you need to stay on top of your studying and try not to get behind. Hope this helps. Cheers

school starts in one week and my book is still on back order. mind you I ordered it back in november! what the eff. I am one of those obsessive students who gets the book early and goes all through it but now Im worried that it wont be here by the first day of school.

p.s. I ordered it the first day you were allowed too.

Hi again everyone. I just purchased my books today and I swear they weight 25 lbs. So, I am curious. What is everyone dissecting? In my school we dissect cats. I personally would rather dissect cadavers than cats. I often prefer cats to humans. Also, is anyone in this group going to school in the Seattle area?

    Happy New Year to all!!

HI! I am also new to this forum. I am taking A&P I this semester and really feel intimidated - it has been 10 years since I took any courses. I am really looking forward to becoming a nurse. I have decided to only take one class this semester - since it looks like a lot of studying will be needed. I welcome any and all study tips - I was an A student in High School, but never needed to study, and now I really don't know how to study.:spin:

I couldn't resist stopping into say hi, I just finished AP I so good luck to you all and enjoy! There is a folder with AP links if you haven't checked it out check it out lots of great sites.

Hi, I will be taking A&P this semester, I am a little nervous but I think I'll be fine. You mentioned a folder with AP links can you tell me how/where to acess that folder? I don't want to spend money on abunch of unnecessary items when I can get what I need online. Thank you.

There is a tread at the top of the pre-nurse forum called "great anatomy sites" or something like that. You can find the links there!
