How are you financing NS?
I am a SAHM and qualify for grants to pay for tuition, books, and supplies. I have also taken out federal loans to help with cost of living while I am in school.

Richmond, Va ? Which is better Beta Tech or MCI
Have you thought about one of the community colleges? John Tyler offers a ADN and J. Sargant Reynolds offers both LPN and ADN. I am going to John Tyler and will probably spend no more than $10,000 total for my ADN and pre-reqs for BSN. John Tyler has a pass rate of 94.8% and Reynolds has a pass rate of 84.6 for the ADN and 100% for the LPN. If you haven't already check out the VA BON website. http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/nursing/ Good luck in whatever you decide!

Ok..I'm just going to stop trying to plan for NS!!
Hello everyone! I decided that I wanted to be a nurse while I was pregnant with my 3rd child, around the middle of 2005. I gave birth in January 06 and started my pre-reqs in Fall 06 with a plan to start nursing school in Fall07. All went well in Fall06 and everything was on schedule until 2 weeks into Spring07. There were some problems with my financial aid and I had to end up dropping out of school until I could correct the problem. Ok no big deal this will just put me back a year. Long story short I ended up changing schools and started this semester on monday. So now I was looking at a NS start of Fall08 but of course another issue has come up. My new school will not accept the develpmental chm class I took at the other school in place of high school chm. So now I have another pre-req to complete before I can even apply. Luckly I have to take this other chm class for the bsn. But now I am looking at a start date of spring09!! I have decided to just stop planning my start date and just take all pre-reqs for ADN and BSN and then apply to ADN program. Who know how long that will take! Sorry for the long rant but I needed to get it out of my system.(My husband is beyond tired of hearing it:) Kimberly RN hopeful-20??

Denver school of nursing and other schools that are not nationally accredited?
I'm pretty sure that most if not all Universitys will not accept courses from a non-accredited school. That being said I believe that if they became accredited after you graduated the accreditation would be retro-active to all classes that graduated.(I could be wrong on this) Good luck! Kimberly

Shoud I add Nutrition to my couse load?
Esther - I don't work outside the home but I do have three little ones that keep me extreamly busy:) My plate is already overflowing so I know that I need to stay away from Nutrition for now! I just thought that if there wasn't really anything to it I could get it out of the way now. Thanks all!

Shoud I add Nutrition to my couse load?
Thanks for the info!! I think I am going to forget about Nutrition for now and just focus on the other 3 classes. Casi- the reason I was thinking about taking Nutrition is because it is required for the RN-BSN program I am planning to do after my ADN. Beggar - The only sciences outside of high school that I have had is Chem which I did really well in.

Shoud I add Nutrition to my couse load?
Hi everyone! I will be finishing up my pre-reqs in this fall. I am taking A&PI, Developmental Psy, and Intro to Mathematics. I am considering adding Nutrition to my schedule but I what to know what to expect. Being someone that hasn't taken it I assume that is a pretty easy class. So can you tell me if my assumption is correct? Thanks! Kimberly

Will I lose my Financial Aid?
I don't believe that your aid will be affected this year. You should speak to your schools financial aid rep and explain everything. Especially if at the time of attendance your family income will be less! Congrats!

NET test tonight!
I took the NET last Saturday and felt well prepared. I used The Net, The Hobet, and The Help study guide and a few websites posted here. I, like most people, was more concerned about the math until I read here that you need to watch out for the reading comp portion. So I increased my reading speed before taking the test and I am so glad I did! I took the paper version and had the best proctor! I should receive my results by the begining of next week.

"The Jesus Factor"
As a born again Christian I have to say that it is our duty, as Christians, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. With that said I don't believe that you can force anyone into heaven. I see no problem with sharing Jesus with someone but if they don't want to hear it stop wasting your time and theirs. Kimberly

How many parents in here?
I am a sahm to three amazing kids, ages 5, 3, and 1. I am still working on my pre-reqs and should be done in the Fall. I'll then qualify to apply to the nursing program!! Yay! If all goes well I should start the nursing program in Fall 08 so I will be able to knock the co-reqs out in the Spring leaving me with the nursing classes. There is no way I can raise 3 kids, keep a house hold running, take nursing classes and try to think about non-nursing classes! I'm a little worried about what it will be like once I am in nursing school though. Right now I can go to school at night and online but once I'm in nursing school I will have to attend day time only. Good luck to all! Kimberly
