I'm posting this on its own thread because I really want everyone keep your hope and dreams alive! I really hope that none of you give up. Even if you get denied several times or have to wait several years, keep trying and your time will come.

(As most of you know, I was denied for Spring '06, but retook my Algebra class and reapplied.)

The letters came today!!!!!!

Come June 1st, it will have been fifteen years since I graduated from high school. I went straight into college in pursuit of my nursing degree, but never got to the point of applying.

15 years after I graduated from high school, I finally have an acceptance letter into the nursing program!

I will start at North Lake College in the Fall '06 program! :balloons: :balloons:

Please, no one give up!!!!!!

Thanks to all of you for your support!!!!!!!!![/bANANA]

Congratulations, I'm soooo happy for you! :balloons:

I hope I will be posting my own good news shortly...I'm waiting to hear back from the NS I've applied to and if accepted, it will be the start of fulfilling a dream I've had since I was 6 years old but only now made time for 21 years after high school, three kids, one husband -- and a lot of growing up -- later.

Anyway, what a nice outcome for you, especially after your disappointment last year. But things work out when the time is right, and I'm sure you'll be a wonderful nurse!

Again, congrats!! :)

Good luck to you, and I look forward to reading your good news!

Just curious for those of you who would like to respond - Would you have picked Nursing when you graduated from High School many years ago? Not me! My dad's death 10 years ago from cancer inspired me!

Although I wanted to be a nurse as a kid, it was the furthest thing from my mind by high school!! I didn't even consider it again until my 20s-30s, after having wonderful nurses for the birth of my kids and for friends/relatives who were ill. But during high school, well, let's just say my thoughts were focused on my social life, to put it mildly....:lol2:

I tried my best to get honor roll one six weeks.....I was .01, thats POINT O-1, away from making it. I never really tried again. ...STUPID!

I didn't make terrible grades (except for barely passing Algebra), but definitely not great! I did pass with an Advance Transcript because I had 3 honors classes....A&P, Spanish & Band. :uhoh3: (*drum corp) :lol2:

Thanks for all the responses to my question about what led you to pursue nursing! I have loved reading the truly inspirational stories - many which brought tears.

Good luck and God bless all of you on your journey - after all we are all on a journey to fulfill God's plan for our lives, whether it be in nursing or some other field.

:balloons: Congrats!!!:balloons:

:lol2: I sooooo happy for you!!!:lol2:

That means there is still hope for me yet.
