Legacy Health RN Residency 2011

U.S.A. Oregon

Did anyone applied to the Cohort 2011 RN residency at Legacy Health?

NurseWinn - how did NCLEX go? Sorry for the delayed reply. I asked for cardiac/telemetry; my original choice was critical care but they said they weren't hiring residents for that right now so I had to pick a second choice. The interview was fine, but very short. I actually got a job offer last week somewhere else, though, closer to Seattle where I want to be, so I won't be pursuing the Legacy residency anymore. Good luck to all of you!

Thanks for asking!! It went great! I am a NURSE! :nurse: I, like so many before me was convinced that I had failed but tried the PV trick and got the good pop-up and the next day there I was listed as a registered nurse for Oregon!!

I just had my phone interview on Monday, it was for the Med/Surg unit as the critical care was unavailable. CONGRATS! on the Job in Seattle!! :yeah: I am so happy for you, and to know that somewhere out there they are hiring new grads....now if only those could be found here in Oregon! Good luck to you on your new path in a nursing career!

I had my phone interview on Monday.... so obviously I have not heard back, I am thinking none of us will hear anything until early July, or if it was anything like the last round maybe a week before you start??? I am so anxious to find out but only if it will bring good news, trying to find a job in the Portland area is challenging!! More so than any of my teachers lead on to :crying2:

I wish all of us good luck and think it would be wonderful if all of us were given a spot!! If anyone hears anything, don't be shy, let us know!

I got a call back today :w00t:

Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us! :) Still plenty of time!

Congrats to you too! :D

I'm still hoping, but I have three strikes against me... from out of town, an ASN (although enrolled in RN to BSN program) and a "stale" graduate. Luck to those of you who get the second interview!

Has anyone else heard anything yet? The anticipation is brutal! For those of you that have heard, which floors are you interviewing with? That is, if you don't mind sharing. I am just curious if each floor is doing their own thing (interview wise) or if we will all be scheduled for the same day again. Anyone know?

I am trying for the Medical Speacilties. I would think that each floor/unit is doing their own thing an not all on the same day like the first interviews (this is all speculation though..) what specialty are you trying for?

For those who did get a call, how are you preparing for it? I am going crazy as all the other places I am applying to keep turning me down.

I applied for the Birth Center. I feel you on the rejection letters..... I am having a hard time because I am out of town and trying to move to Oregon (for family reasons) so I can't even network at all... I am currently in San Diego and the market is the same here. 500 applicants for every new grad hiring session. One of the hospitals had TWO new grad openings and still had over 500 applicants. CRAZY! The hospitals here are also only leaving their application submission times open for three or four days and they close it at any time as soon as they reach a certain amount of applicants. So, if you are not watching the job openings a couple times a day then you get left out. Legacy head theirs open for a long time so I can only imagine how many applicants they had, and then having to interview them all. It makes me wonder who they remember the most... They people who went first, or the people who went last? You know?

Anyway, good luck to you and like I said before, I am keeping my fingers crossed for us all! :)
