Hi guys! Yes, I did have an in-person interview. I was told 40-60 (for all specialties) but they said that they didn't know for sure. Do you guys have your Oregon endorsement yet? It took me 8 weeks to get mine last time. My case was unusual, but it can be a lengthy weight!

40-60? Well that is alot more promising than my pessimistic view!! I feel like an idiot but what is my Oregon Endorsment? I take the NCLEX on June 1 for an Oregon Liscense.... I hope this is not an indication of missing a step!
I called the very nice HR lady back about the hone interview an she told me they plan on contacting the out of state people "sometime within the next couple of weeks" but could not give me a more specific time. She said they had to go through the in-person interviews first... So I feel a little left out without knowing a more definate time frame.
Where else are you new Grads applying to?
Oregon endorsement is simply your RN license in a subsequent state after you already have your license in your home state I assumed that because you guys were from out of state & you had to do phone interviews that you had your licenses in another state already. So you don't need to worry about it
After 100+ applications & 4 months of unemployment here in the pacific NW, I finally got a job in a LTC facility in Vancouver, WA. I walked in to the facility in business attire with my resume, cover letter and business card and they hired me on the spot at my interveiw the next day. I'm still applying to all the hospitals with in a 1 hour driving distance hoping to get my foot in the door, but it seems everywhere is looking for that golden one year of experience (aside from the residencies). I'm thankful for a job and a paycheck, but I miss critical care. I had an amazing experience in my senior practicum at Legacy this Fall, made some great contacts there and got several wonderful letters of recommendation. It is still a very tough market here.
Good luck on your NCLEX! Have you heard about the Pearsonvue trick yet?

If you are applying for your Oregon license straight out than you are fine. The endorsement is if you have a license in another state and also want to have a license in Oregon. Lilredrn (Hi!!) and I both got our initial license in WA and then got endorsements in OR. Mine took a while too but that was user error on my part. Our classmates that got their initial licenses in OR got them quickly after taking their NCLEX.
I pretty much gave up any expectation of getting a position this time around since they had lowered the GPA requirement and there should have been so many more applicants than in December. I was really just going through the motions but that ended up being so liberating that I went into the interview (cardiac telemetry) freakishly relaxed and actually did quite well. So who knows.
Good luck to everyone who interviewed!
Hi Vdrapeau! In the other Legacy thread, did you see the post about applicants not being considered if they didn't have their OR license in hand? It was pretty soon after we graduated last time around, and even more of a time crunch with the holidays thrown in the mix. Although they have lowered the GPA requirement, there is a good chance it is part of their decision making process since they used it as a requirement in the past. I think you have a great chance. I know you don't want to get your hopes up, but I know what a great nurse you are :heartbeat

For those of us waiting on phone interviews.. I just got a call about mine, and am scheduled for tomorrow afternoon! Anyone who already interviewed, what kinds of questions did they ask?
I have one more question - I am taking NCLEX in a few weeks for a Washington license, since that's where I'm living and where most of the jobs I'm applying to are. My understanding from the Legacy website was that they have a facility in Vancouver, WA, and then several in Oregon, so you need the respective license depending on the facility. Anyone have any more information about this?

I did my practicum at their Vancouver site less than a year ago. It is a beautiful facility and the staff is amazing. I have heard many times you have to have your license in hand in order to be considered for a spot within that state, but it could just be rumor. I was in the same position you are last round. I took my NCLEX while waiting for a call back for a 2nd interview. Got my WA license first, then OR endorsement. Unfortunately I didn't get a call for a 2nd interview last time. Hopefully I will this time!
If you do basic interview prep, you will do great. They're not necessarily looking for reheorificed answers. Its OK if you need to stop & think for a second or if you need to come back to a question. (I competed in job interview for VICA & this is what I was told for competition). Good Luck!
Great job on getting that first interview!!! I have not heard from them at all, I am going for Med specialties, what is your focus? I will be taken the NCLEX in 8hrs for an Oregon licenship.please let us know how it goes with your interview. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

@Nicole, it would not be fair to tell you the kinds of questions they ask. Just be yourself and do your best. Good luck on the NCLEX.
NurseWinn - how did NCLEX go? Sorry for the delayed reply. I asked for cardiac/telemetry; my original choice was critical care but they said they weren't hiring residents for that right now so I had to pick a second choice. The interview was fine, but very short. I actually got a job offer last week somewhere else, though, closer to Seattle where I want to be, so I won't be pursuing the Legacy residency anymore. Good luck to all of you!
Today is the 2 week mark... We were told that we would hear back 2-3 weeks after the first interview. Is that what you guys were told too? Let us know if you get a call back for a second interview! Good luck everyone!

I am also an out-of-state applicant but have completed my over the phone prescreen interview. It was my first over the phone interview ever and I really feel I would have done better in person.. :-( Anyway, just curious if anyone has heard back yet about a final interview? I asked the manager that interviewed me how long it would be until we heard back and she said 2-3 weeks after your prescreen interview, which because mine was last Thursday June 2nd, that would mean that it could be early July before I hear anything. She also said that as far as she knows, the start date is still scheduled for July 24th (I think it was) despite the fact all the interviews were pushed back. I know we can't all get in but I wish us all luck anyway! :-)
