Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

GuiltyLove,

I don't think that submitting your application one week before the deadline will hurt your chances. As long as they receive all application materials before November 1st, you will be considered a priority review applicant. The waiting game begins! :)

Good to know! Time to be... not nervous, I hope :p

DCBW,

That's really good to know! Your GRE verbal score is awesome!

I went to the Open house last month (I highly suggest visiting if you can - it's a really great experience) and will be applying to the PNP program.

Good luck to everyone! It sounds like it'll be a competitive applicant pool this year.

Good luck to everyone! I just sent in my application for Pyschiatric MSN track. Does anyone know when we will hear back?

I hope it's not TOO competitive. I'd like to get accepted :p

Hello!

I submitted my application at the very last minute on November 1st, and was wondering if my application status should say complete? All transcripts, scores, etc, have been turned in and accepted.

I am graduating with my BSN this December, and applied for the MSN/FNP program with out of state clinicals. Does anyone know if it is more/less competitive if you are applying with a BSN?

Best of luck to everyone!

I was just looking at last year's thread...looks like people heard in March. But I don't have any idea when we'd hear about interviews for the psych specialty.

I'm so happy I stumbled across this thread! I just submitted my application for the Primary PNP program at on Oct 31st! My GRE scores were average...155 Verbal, 159 QR, 4 Writing. GPA is a 3.4...anxiously waiting to hear back. I have no nursing experience whatsoever, just A TON of shadowing and I graduate from my BSN program in May. I talked with someone in the Nursing Dept and they said that they hope to tell the Nov 1st people by late January about acceptance. A girl that graduated from my school in 2013 got word of her acceptance in mid-December so it could be even sooner! I'm worried that my writing score will completely exclude me from the running b/c from what i've been seeing, a 4.5 is the minimum...
