Does anyone know about Pacific College online BSN Program 12,300 17 months anyone have an experience with Pacific College in Costa Mesa California?

I've looked all over and I can not find anything about how good or bad the RN to BSN program is. However, the school scores around a 36 out of 100 and it seems to get a ton of hate from students enrolled in different programs from Pacific College.

I was also looking for info on this school but I can't find it anywhere

Specializes in med/surg/tele/neuro/rehab/corrections.

I am looking into this online RN-BSN program as well. I liked the counselor I spoke with. And even better I liked the price. It's now $14,555

Hoping to hear from anyone who has taken classes there

I started 5 weeks ago for the RN-BSN. So far so good.... The score is now in the 60's from my above post. Almost twice as high as other online RN-BSN schools.

It's been a few months for you now... Can you elaborate about the program and your experience so far? My co-worker and I are going to sign up for this program based on a former co-worker who received her BSN from Pacific and said it was very much doable for a full time nurse. She was also very pleased with the classes. No statistics needed nor other upper class general Ed and electives. ALL NURSING BASED CLASSES!!! Plus PHN class/clinical for certification optional! Looking forward to reading your response!

The Pacific College RN-BSN program experience so far is enjoyable. You get two classes that are eight weeks long and then one week off before receiving your next two eight week classes. The typical work load (so far) for each class consist of 1 - 2 forum discussion posts followed by responding to other posts (each class). Also, expect to have at least 1 APA style writing assignment per week per class. The leadership class did have a 10 hour shadow requirement of a nurse in leadership. I was told no shadowing unless your going for the PHN (public health nurse cert), but I did not try to request an alternant assignment for that class. Communication from student to teacher has a 48 hour response time, but so far it has been less then 24 hours. The staff at the school is small, I'm still waiting for a follow up to my question about BRN credits and if the classes apply to that. No statistics needed for enrollment..;). The PHN is optional, but highly recommended (90 hours I think). I believe the program is about $14k not including books, but a good book renter site is the best way to go (never use e-book unless your used to it).

If I missed something that was important to you, just ask.

Does the school offer their own APA software? I asked the counselor and she didn't know. How much more are the books? Also, I was a little shocked that this is the only school that doesn't require stats. Why? And are the 2 classes at a time doable for a full time worker? I appreciate all of your information. I'm going to forward this to my friend who is planning on signing up with me!

No APA software needed, they will give you "How to" links to YouTube videos. If you PM me a e-mail I will send you one of my papers with the APA format so you can get the idea. You will need word 2010 or better. If you buy new, then books will be $80 - $100+ per book. If you rent your books, it is around $17 per book. As for not having stats as a requirement, I can only guess that because the RN - BSN is online and the school offers only specific classes it is not needed. Universities always have their own pre-reqs that make up ways to get a little extra out of each student. The important topic, Time. I do not know you or your friends schedule, but the assignments that take the most amount of time are the APA writing assignments. You will need to set time aside every week and most likely on your days off to complete your discussions and assignments.

If you have more questions, please ask. This is a 17 month commitment.

I am getting ready to start the RN-BSN Online program through Pacific College. Any follow up recommendations or information from current enrollees? I liked the tip that it would be beneficial to rent textbooks versus EBooks. Are all the textbooks easy to procure?

I am looking into this program. How is it going for you so far?

I'm also interested in an updated review of this school. I'm looking into starting their RN-BSN program in August.
