Does anyone know about Pacific College online BSN Program 12,300 17 months anyone have an experience with Pacific College in Costa Mesa California?
I am getting ready to start the RN-BSN Online program through Pacific College. Any follow up recommendations or information from current enrollees? I liked the tip that it would be beneficial to rent textbooks versus EBooks. Are all the textbooks easy to procure?
Just curious....how's it going so far?

You get two classes that are eight weeks long and then one week off before receiving your next two eight week classes. The typical work load (so far) for each class consist of 1 - 2 forum discussion posts followed by responding to other posts (each class). Also, expect to have at least 1 APA style writing assignment per week per class. The leadership class did have a 10 hour shadow requirement of a nurse in leadership. I was told no shadowing unless your going for the PHN (public health nurse cert), but I did not try to request an alternant assignment for that class. Communication from student to teacher has a 48 hour response time, but so far it has been less then 24 hours. The staff at the school is small, I'm still waiting for a follow up to my question about BRN credits and if the classes apply to that. No statistics needed for enrollment..
. The PHN is optional, but highly recommended (90 hours I think). I believe the program is about $14k not including books, but a good book renter site is the best way to go (never use e-book unless your used to it).
If I missed something that was important to you, just ask.

The school classes are a breeze as long as you stick to the APA format and you cite all references. It is a small staff, so I encourage you to be diligent and stay on top of everything. If you do not understand something, e-mail your professors and or staff, and cc everyone in the office if need be. Some extra fees may come up like graduation and the optional PHN course (CBRN app fees). They will help you locate a preceptor if you want your PHN cert. One course requires you to shadow someone in a management position and another course in a community setting like a shelter. I have no negative comments about anything I have experienced in the program.
