2nd try and 44 SATA's later...
I was trying to celebrate with you until someone had to spoil the party with their unnecessary comment. Can't join a conversation without someone fighting every word [emoji19]

@justbeachynurse well then you better go tell colleges and Kaplan to stop teaching that! 🤓[emoji107]ðŸ½

That's not what we were told all through nursing school and Kaplan.

Is My Pay Really That Bad???
I honestly think a nurses pay is related to cost of living in your surrounding area. For instance, cost of living is way high in Northern California so average nurse makes $50-60+ per hour. Rural areas make a lot less.

Dumbest thing a doctor has done/said to you
Called the doc to let him know his A&Ox4 patient was refusing everything, meds and fluids through his gtube, being combative, struck me 4 times, attempting to get out of bed. Doc replied "so what? You want restraints? Sedate the man? I'd be mad too if you woke me up!" I said "that gives him permission to hit a nurse because he was woken up? Never in my 12 years of nursing have I been hit by a patient." Doc replied "well consider yourself lucky because I've never heard of a nurse that has not been hit by a patient within the 1st few years in their career!" I said "oh so I guess I was overdue then, huh?!?" His reply "YES!" I then told him I was going to let the director know of his rude behavior and document every word he said... Right then he changed his tune and gave me the orders I needed to deal with this patient!

Same Day Surgery GN
I'm so happy for you! I, as well, am a 1st year RN and working outpatient surgery. I'm mainly doing PACU and love it. At least 6 other classmates who graduated with me are doing outpatient as well. I also don't feel taking on this type of position will hinder your chances at getting into other specialties in the future! Have fun!!!

Pacific college Online BSN program
Does the school offer their own APA software? I asked the counselor and she didn't know. How much more are the books? Also, I was a little shocked that this is the only school that doesn't require stats. Why? And are the 2 classes at a time doable for a full time worker? I appreciate all of your information. I'm going to forward this to my friend who is planning on signing up with me!

Pacific college Online BSN program
It's been a few months for you now... Can you elaborate about the program and your experience so far? My co-worker and I are going to sign up for this program based on a former co-worker who received her BSN from Pacific and said it was very much doable for a full time nurse. She was also very pleased with the classes. No statistics needed nor other upper class general Ed and electives. ALL NURSING BASED CLASSES!!! Plus PHN class/clinical for certification optional! Looking forward to reading your response!

Need help finalizing my RN-BSN school decision!
Hey everyone! Just needing constructive criticism about University of Phoenix RN-BSN online program. I know it's uber-expensive compared to other online colleges, but for someone who needs structured learning, would this be a good choice? Aside from pricing, what are the pros and cons of UOP? All comments greatly appreciated :)
