A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester :D. The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.

Hi deniseashley,

Are you logging on the the Blackboard 8.0 or 9.1 version? I am not sure, but I believe you have to access it from 8.0. You would click on resources and then select the nurse orientation tab and go from there. Good Luck!

i cant access blackboard 8.0, is there any way else to access the NEONI test? i still cant find it on blackboard 9.1

You should be able to log in to blackboard 8.0 with your "s" number and your password. Then just click on the resources tab then click on the nursing tab and the NEONI class is there. Just click on the enroll button and enter the password. It's still there and my "grade" from the test this past March still show up.

I am having the exact same problem! It is MIA on blackboard 9.1, and when i try to log into blackboard 8.0 it says access denied. Blasted! I guess i will have to contact the department about it.

Ok go onto the Blackboard 9.1 version and click onto the "Course" Tab. Type into the Course search box at the top of the left hand side. Type in "Orientation" and it display a list...I believe the Nursing Orientation is the third one down. Click on the arrows that are pointing down and Enroll into the orientation course. Hope that helps :)

Sorry Scott, I didn't mean to quote you on my answer. I was meaning to quote deniseashley in my post :D

That's okay as in March when NEONI time rolls around again I'll have to find the orientation site and take that exam for the third and FINAL time.:yeah:

I called the nursing department and they were under the impression that we could still access BB 8.0. They have the NEONI test in that site. They are working on moving it to BB 9.1. The woman I spoke with said that they would be sending out an email with instructions on how to find it in BB 9.1. She said that they wanted to hopefully send out the email by tuesday.

Is anyone familiar with the health insurance offered through tri-c? If so, do you know how long it takes to process and the costs of the insurance?

You are much better off obtaining insurance from some other route if you can afford it. Yeah the insurance offered through Tri-C is cheap, but it doesn't cover a damned thing. There were a few folks that posted about it on the group site. Look around the message board over there for more info. You may have to go back a few pages though. This of course is if you have access to the group site.

All right, I give up, whats a NEONI test? I passed the entrance exam and did my background check but I haven't heard anything from anyone so I am clueless as to what you guys are talking about. Please fill me in.

NEONI stands for NorthEast Ohio Nursing Initiative. Basically it's a bunch of area hospitals that provide clinical experiences to students in area school's nursing programs. The test is placed on the blackboard site and consists of a bunch of safety related questions of which you must get 90 something percent correct in order to "pass." You can take it as many times as necessary however. All new admits take the exam prior to enrolling in 1300/1450. Everyone including people who might have just started in 1300/1450 take the exam again in March. No one is exempt from taking the NEONI exam including clinical faculty.
