Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

I'm sure you do give your all, it tends to be a particular personality type that doesn't. And you're right, part of the crapshoot is the Prof, and it may have all ended up fine without my intervention/overhaul/tweaking. Will never know, I guess.

I was fortunate, that the majority of my groups were fine...yes frustrating slow at times, but everyone did decent work....

Fixing Other People's S___ ...

It should be an actual slot on the CLC Agreement so that poor person is clear on what their task actually is and when they will be doing it

Health Assessment. The first DQ question is answered. I can see there will be a great deal of work to be done.

Oh THAT class, lol.

Yeah, it's a busy one. My computer crashed during that class. OMG, I aged 10 years.

Some of those CLCs are worth 300 points (don't I remember one that was 330? Can't remember now)

That would be Ethics which I just started yesterday. Week 5 is 330, and week 4 is a CLC worth 280. Not only is there CLC overload, but it's CLC papers. Considering the crap people turn in for CLC PPts, I am guessing the papers are really going to be stinkers! Oh well, at least it's not STATS!

I started out printing out the chapters at home, I work in a prison and can't take a tablet or laptop to work. But it is better to read on the tablet or laptop, when you print it off, everything is small and just runs on and on. Not like having a text book at all. I too purchases the hard copy stats book. Don't waste your money by doing that, it is just a workbook and doesn't help you at all. When you get to statistics class, I found out through another student to go to youtube and watch Brandon Foltz teaching videos. That is so much more helpful than the khan academy that is in the weekly resources. I took a lot of notes while watching his videos but he doens't make you feel stupid and the way that he teaches stats actually helps you learn it and makes it interesting. I don't think I would have passed without him. Good luck.

Just wait until you get in statistics and everyone is trying to say the same thing. Hint, be one of the first to post if you can.
