Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

I needed to her that Prism. If I didn't have a dislocated rib I'd,lol. ;) No great story just reached for my lunch bag out of the truck quickly so I could run in and do...more homework.

Awwhh man!! Blame it on GCU  Hope your OK though?!

No no no, I meant that it's the end of week 2 and I've completed 5 assignments TOTAL (3 in wk 1, 2 in wk 2).

I can't believe this Prof overlaps her Cap classes; I already know she's the bomb (the good kind), but now I think she's SUPER-WOMAN-PROF! I cannot imagine all that incessant reading/grading and answering freak-out questions from those of us who are freak-out-predisoposed (:sarcastic:) and still manages to have my papers graded within 2 days? AND she's the nicest person ever in the history of ever?

Prism, do you have the same instructor Winter and I have? If so that's reassuring to know "shes the nicest instructor ever"

GL all.. I start Capstone next week.......Just have my 1 last paper for Trends to do, should be done today, then start collecting those 15 articles...good times.

Tokmom, Kwmom, Prism, you, and I all have the same instructor Beauty! Worth the wait or jumping ahead! :)

There is more than just 1 good prof out there.....And if ur adviser is like mine..would not let me double up, even though I am paying out of pocket and don't work....nothing but time

Oh OK!! Well I've only heard nothing but good things about her so I am happy Winter you told me when she was teaching so that I could double up. Like I said she seems super nice and helpful THANK GOD!!!!

Flames you are correct that there are plenty of good instructors at GCU. I've only had 1 bad one which was in Spirituality. Good Luck to you next week in Capstone. Its exciting and scary at the same time.

Will be nice to just get it over with..Maybe for once I will work ahead and just get it done with, lol

This is definitely true, but also there are some that I would avoid. Several of the Instr's I had for prior classes (that were not helpful, made up their own APA rules, were late graders, were vague &/or just plain confusing) I had looked in the faculty roster and they also teach Cap. I wasn't willing to roll the dice for something this monumentally important, stress-inducing, and time consuming. I would have been done 2 months ago if I had just let the computer randomly assign me to someone, but decided to go with a proven winner and I'm definitely glad I did. Not sure my family agrees, but they're not the ones that sit here and try to decipher ridiculous assignment instructions and cryptic add-ons with so much on the line.

Very true..why its important to join FB groups........networking is a good thing, finding out the good/bad profs..makes ones life a lot easier!!

I really like being here in this forum. I find that Facebook is way overrated, besides how you get into a group can be creepy. I have actually had classmates attempt to friend me. Being in an online environment for 5 weeks does not make me your friend (especially the one who dumped junk in my lap for a CLC - I'm going to need therapy over the CLCs). I'm not saying that you cannot end up being friends from an online classroom situation, the situation would just depend. Then there is the whole moderator, because lets face it some people just do not have a brain about what they post in a public forum, and if the moderator is one of those people, um, no...

...off to read some more boring articles. Yawn...

My FB group is small....Allnurses has been helpful, but I have gotten more info from FB groups.....each their own....Each adds to the puzzle.....
