Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Nursing Students Online Learning

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Can anyone recommend a good movie to use for week 5 assignment in Health Assessment? This is the one where you do a health assessment on a character from one of the movies listed. I am not really into movies so I am not familiar with any of the choices. I can hardly think straight right now, I'm recovering from a nightmare of a CLC project! I knew I would have one sooner or later, but really didn't want it during the holidays. Right as I'm stirring the turkey gravy I get a text asking what their part is in the project(and it's due tomorrow). I know you have all been there so I don't feel so bad!

Another Steel Magnolia PPT (Prism, I can just see Sally Field in that particular scene! :roflmao:). I chose it because I like Julia Roberts, lol.

Do you guys have to post them to the public forum? We had to post and comment on other's ppt. One student did the Mask, but instead of using the original storyline, she used the film with Jim Carrey! Nobody said anything at first and then one brave soul did. Of course the instructor made mention and gave her another 2 days to complete the correct ppt. I really felt sorry for her, but how she thought the Jim Carrey Mask was the correct storyline...:bored:

How's patho? I start it after the break. Dreading it already.

It's different. My instructor requires you to cite your comments to other people's DQ's. The papers seem longer and we have a CLC. First week you have to take a patho test, but you can keep retaking until you make 100%. Also, my instructor makes us post 4 days instead of 3. This is one class I've actually had to read the book for so far.

What is your class #11? Patho is my #11, I start 12/15. Yeah, tell me about the CLC please, `cause I mistakenly thought I was DONE with those but apparently Patho has one

I still have to do evidence based and my capstone

Really? We had to post only three days, but we did have too cite in our responses

Would you mind sending me a PM as to who your instructor is?

I used the Elephant Man. I loved that guy by the time I was done with the PPT! Start working on it now to get it to all dovetail together.

Now that is worth some indigestion. I'm telling you I'd have a come apart.

I did Away With Her. I really only chose it because it was available through my cable provider so it was easy to access.

Thanks for all of your suggestions about the movies. I will watch one today and get started with the ppt. It will be a busy week with another assignment due next Sunday also.

I am recovered from my CLC and am putting it behind me. I just have to realize some people like to work at the last hour. As for not reading all of the posts in the forum, I have a hard time with that. Everything was spelled out clearly from the beginning, but I guess its just me being too anal. I like to know things ahead of time and plan accordingly. Oh well, on to the next project!

Glad I am part of this thread. I saw the Mask as a choice for the powerpoint and told myself "I can do a PP on Jim Carrey, I need a laugh. " It was the only movie I think I have seen out of the list. Now I have to change plans.... Lucky I have the break to watch the movie and do the powerpoint.

Feeling really against the wall this week for some reason. Talked to the wife last night about quitting school for a while, really tired and there are so many things around the house I have ignored for far too long...... Need to do my write up for this weeks assignment and next weeks discussion posts...... really do not want to...

I know that feeling. I ignored a lot of my house and yard. We have 3 1/2 acres and a 1/4 acre flowers. I'm still catching up on house and yard. Sigh..

It's worth it in the end though, so keep plugging away.

Hi rob, how about built-in 2 week breaks in between classes? I took 60 days off in the summer, and honestly I wish I hadn't. I'm kicking myself now, because I would be done.
