"Winkfield said she's reached puberty over the last year, and has had two menstrual cycles -- something Dolan said can only happen to someone with a functioning brain." - Isn't Dolan an attorney? I highly doubt he has an qualifications to make such a statement.

And despite these movements and twitches Jahi is making, she isn't breathing on her own or having any real quality of life. The mother seriously needs to let her go. I understand the situation is just awful, but let her go, grieve, and try to move forward in life.

I'm amazed at the ability of some people to continue following a story forever. You must have an amazing attention span. Wow.

Actually I just came across the article on Facebook and found It interesting but thanks for the comment.

Uh - I've wondered about her recently, too. I've also thought about Paula Deen and the Ebola nurses.

The one I DON'T think about is Honey Boo-Boo. :cheeky:

IF even one little thing that family said was true, if there was even an iota of proof that this child had any improvement at all, why wouldn't that family sign away their rights that are protected by HIPAA and allow the nurses and docs that took care of her in NJ to make a statement to back them up? Why not allow a health care professional to release a current picture or certify that one of the photos that are being posted and re-posted are current? It seems to me that they would want to allow providers to state the truth if the truth backed up their claims. Instead they have people with questionable backgrounds who never examined Jahi in person writing testimony that is based on speculation.

The reason we keep reading is that we are stunned by the dishonesty and in awe of the fact that these people are getting away with this scam for a solid year. We are incredibly sorry for the health care professionals who are forced to care for a dead teenager, and we are all waiting for this to end naturally. That vent won't keep her breathing forever, sooner or later it IS going to end and we are all waiting to see what the lawsuit will reveal when it does.

In the 70's a book came out called "The secret life of plants" I guess...no I know because I see it every day in acute care...people will believe all kinds of irrational things...meanwhile those we are "caring" for suffer inconceivable torture.

I know if this was my child I would have to come to terms with this & just let him go. I couldn't keep his body hooked up to machines for my selfish reasons. Not to mention she has other children across the country! Enough is enough.

But poor Honey Boo-Boo is probably the one who needs the most concern!

Well, at least we know that Jahi isn't suffering -- because she's DEAD.

This is so sad. Even if the parents believe she is alive, what about her quality of life? I cannot even begin to imagine the pain of having a child die, but I wouldn't want them to "live" like this. I wonder how her other children feel about Mom never being home or not being there for Christmas?

Nothing new in the news for over a month. News stations are just repeating old info with a new spin. Sad. The lawyer had been quiet also since the last court hearing.
