I also filed a petition for declaratory order on 11-2-09 im sure they got the packet because they cashed my check. i have been an lvn for 20 years and got a dwi in may. im now in the bridge program and hoping to get a response soon. i have no previous record with the law or the bon. my dwi charge is pending at this time (i dont drink regularly and was suprised to get arrested after only 3 beers pulled over because of speeding) the money amount to send was confusing i hope it's not the hold up. I did have my prints done at L1 even though they already have them because of my lvn license. anyone with any info or insight on this????

Hey guys! I just got a call from the Texas BON and she said they have approved me to sit for the NCLEX and I should be getting a letter soon with the approval. She also said that 180 days before I take the NCLEX I need to submit a copy of the paper work that they are mailing to me.

Whew....I'm glad Im done with this! It was a stressful process...but good to know I was approved right before X-mas

Can somebody give me some insight!

I applied to an ADN program & got accepted to start in January 2010!!!!!! I've been working SO hard for this I passed the drug test, got my CPR cert & physical & got my fingerprints from L1 done. Well, I got to thinking after I got my fingerprints done... I got arrested when I was 18 for shoplifting. I was always under the impression that because I did probation for it, that it wouldn't go on my record. Well I was never very clear on this so I called the court to ask, they said IT WILL BE ON YOUR RECORD :-0 I have been freaking out since Nov 17- the day I got my fingerprints done & called the court. I've been just waaaaiting for a letter or something to come to tell me what to do next. It's been FIVE weeks & most of my fellow classmates have already gotten their "you're good" blue card!

So... Does anybody know what's going to happen next???

I wish I wouldve known about the declaratory order when I REGISTERED for this program, so I could have done this all at the beginning.

I'm frusturated, scared, upset.... and it looks like I'm going to have to wait another year to start this program.

Any advice, help, or insight would be so very much appreciated. I can't seem to find very much info online about this kind of situation.

lexiloo,

call the Texas BON and ask them what your status is. They called me yesterday and thats the only reason I knew I was approved. I also needed to have the letter before I can start my BSN program in Jan....long story but I told the dean of nursing about my background and she said that I needed to get the D. order by Jan 5 or else they were going to give my spot away. Well it turns out when my school did a background check and nothing came up...so my dean called me and told me that I wouldnt need the letter by Jan 5 after all but I still needed to get it.

I submitted my paper work the first week of Nov...and did my background check a week before Thanksgiving. I also had a mis B shoplifiting when I was 17, I am now 23. Hope this helps, but I bet they approved you...its just taking awhile to get the letter. I have not gotten mine yet but she said they approved me on Dec 9.

Goodluck and keep us updated!

Well I still have not heard anything. It has been almost 5 months. I am so confused at how this process works. I hear people getting responses in a month or less and getting phone calls. I called the board and they told me they are still working on the August requests and that they do not make phone contact? I don't understand, how is there such a dramatic difference?
Sorry, I'm just getting anxious and I know its my fault for waiting to turn in the d.o.

I finally called a couple weeks ago, and they said... Oh we sent yours out back in November, it must've gotten lost in the mail! So I'm definitely ok Good luck to y'all... but when I called the lady was very nice & helpful so I recommend to anybody that is waiting or has question to just call the BON and hopefully they will be as helpful to you as they were to me.

I called last week and they told me a decision has been made and my file was sent to someone for approval of the decision. I wonder how long that process takes?
