Hello, please I would like to seek some opinions based on experience. I got an OUI citation on Sunday 3/10 and appeared in court on Monday 3/11. I'm planing to take a plea bargain and do the necessary classes through CWOF (Massachusetts residents). Please do you think the plea bargain will affect my nursing license? My first renewal is in May. Thanks in advance

Considering the ramifications of the charge, these questions would be best directed to your attorney.
Best wishes.

This charge can definitely affect your licensure. Agree with Chare. You currently have a lawyer, what do they say about your nursing license? I was charged with a misdemeanor...my lawyer got it expunged. The BON never needed to know.
You made a mistake..you should not have to lose your license over it.

I'm curious to know how things worked out for you as I'm currently going through the same situation. Are you presently in school or have you graduated?

Hi. I got a lawyer, he advised me against going to trial because my BAC was way more than 0.08, so I took the plea bargain. One year probation, 16weeks alcoholic program, and 45days driver license suspension. I renewed my nursing license in April without any issue. My next renewal is 2026, and the lawyer said not to inform BON because the case would have been closed before my next renewal.
That's amazing. I'm happy it worked out for you. I'm planning to do the same as I'm presently in school, but graduating soon. I know I won't be able to do the NCLEX right away, so I'm hoping for a good outcome as well.
