Register Today!- May 31, '11 by Trilldayz,RN BSNYou know, I used a few of these tactics you mentioned and they helped me get hired! Not only for any job, but an awesome GN ICU job! I totally used the getting chummy with the HR recruiter *this was the key* she talked with me so much that she personally advertised for me to the ICU manager! I also used monster (that's how the recuiter found me in the first place!) And the calling the units I tried. Thanks (again) for the great advice! For you guys that are still looking, be assertive and get out there and fight for your job!

I hope you have enjoyed your experience in the ICU so far. I'm sure you have seen how much you have grown and yet still learning a handful and then some everyday. Great work, gumshoe! LOL! Cheers! You know, I used a few of these tactics you mentioned and they helped me get hired! Not only for any job, but an awesome GN ICU job! - Nov 9, '11 by sj73201hey! i was wondering if anyone else has gotten a job with these techniques?? how exactly did you do it for the GN positions. it seems they just have an application for everyone, and its for a program, not an actual job posting (well, in a way it is)
- Nov 22, '11 by AndyJuneCongratulations ChicagoRNtoBSN

I happened to stumbled onto this post and WOW what a great strategy this is!! I'm a new grad and I've been looking for jobs everywhere for the past two months and I only get ONE phone call from LTC! And after only ONE day of stalking...I mean...looking people's linkedin profile
and emailing numerous nurse manager in the hospital I used to work at, I got a reply from an actual HUMAN!! She's interested in discussing the opportunity with me even though she's not hiring. But who knows, maybe she will change her mind after meeting me. So to add on to his trick here's what I happened to find:
1. A new linkedin trick to help find the name of people has private profile (as the one ChicagoRNtoBSN mentioned didn't work for me) http://youtu.be/IZVguEuhvPY It works like a CHARM
I found literally every DON and Nurse manager through this technique
2. http://verify-email.org/ helps verify the email address so you don't have to keep guessing the email address and keep having a bounced back email.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! HAPPY JOB HUNTING

- Nov 22, '11 by GM2RNGood job Andy!
This thread definitely has some great information. I currently have 2 jobs, but I've made this thread a link on my browser so I can refer to it if I ever need it, and can refer it to others as well. - Nov 22, '11 by AndyJuneThank you GM2RN
We definitely need to spread the word! We need to talk to actual people in order to find a job and not a computer system.
GM2RN likes this. - Nov 26, '11 by Lub-DubThis is an amazing list! There's nothing wrong with extreme stalking hehe. I admire your bravery!
- Nov 26, '11 by ChicagoRNtoBSNGlad I could be of service to everyone thus far.
AndyJune: Great work gumshoe (LOL!). Super congratulations and thanks for your addition as well. I'll see if I can edit my post to add your latest spy techniques. - Nov 28, '11 by AndyJuneA quick question for you ChicagoRNtoBSN and everyone in this thread, if you get an email back with the "sorry I don't know what you're talking about but everything goes through HR" or "Sorry no new grads check our website for application, good luck" what do you suggest we should do? I got a lot of these and I wonder if I should respond back or just delete it from my mailbox. But at least most of them seemed to be surprised to see my email :icon_roll
