You know, I used a few of these tactics you mentioned and they helped me get hired! Not only for any job, but an awesome GN ICU job! I totally used the getting chummy with the HR recruiter *this was the key* she talked with me so much that she personally advertised for me to the ICU manager! I also used monster (that's how the recuiter found me in the first place!) And the calling the units I tried. Thanks (again) for the great advice! For you guys that are still looking, be assertive and get out there and fight for your job!

Sorry about the delay in response. Life has been kinda hectic. But I am soooooo happy for you. That is AWESOME news!!! I hope you have enjoyed your experience in the ICU so far. I'm sure you have seen how much you have grown and yet still learning a handful and then some everyday. Great work, gumshoe! LOL! Cheers! ?

hey! i was wondering if anyone else has gotten a job with these techniques?? how exactly did you do it for the GN positions. it seems they just have an application for everyone, and its for a program, not an actual job posting (well, in a way it is)

Congratulations ChicagoRNtoBSN :yeah::yeah:I happened to stumbled onto this post and WOW what a great strategy this is!! I'm a new grad and I've been looking for jobs everywhere for the past two months and I only get ONE phone call from LTC! And after only ONE day of stalking...I mean...looking people's linkedin profile :coollook:and emailing numerous nurse manager in the hospital I used to work at, I got a reply from an actual HUMAN!! She's interested in discussing the opportunity with me even though she's not hiring. But who knows, maybe she will change her mind after meeting me. So to add on to his trick here's what I happened to find:

1. A new linkedin trick to help find the name of people has private profile (as the one ChicagoRNtoBSN mentioned didn't work for me)

It works like a CHARM ;) I found literally every DON and Nurse manager through this technique

2. http://verify-email.org/ helps verify the email address so you don't have to keep guessing the email address and keep having a bounced back email.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! HAPPY JOB HUNTING :lol2::yeah:

Good job Andy!

This thread definitely has some great information. I currently have 2 jobs, but I've made this thread a link on my browser so I can refer to it if I ever need it, and can refer it to others as well.

Thank you GM2RN :D We definitely need to spread the word! We need to talk to actual people in order to find a job and not a computer system.

AndyJune: Great work gumshoe (LOL!). Super congratulations and thanks for your addition as well. I'll see if I can edit my post to add your latest spy techniques.
