How long did take HR to contact you after your final interview? The people I interviewed with said they want to hire me, but HR has to be the one to call with the offer. It's been a week, but the department head went on vacation until this Friday.
Also, how does on-call work? Do you get paid for being on-call? I have an interview tomorrow and in the previous interview with this hospital they said something about being on-call at times. I just want to ask relevant questions about this.
I'm going to this interview tomorrow because I don't have any kind of confirmation about the other job and don't want to find out I don't have the job after all. I really hope I get the job I'm waiting on because it's my first pick, but this other hospital is a good place too.

It took a month after my interview to get a formal offer package from the hospital system I am working for.

It can take a few weeks.

The last two answers are typical. There are many reasons it could take a few weeks.
And definitely keep looking.
You don't have the job until you have a firm offer in writing. You don't stop looking until you've received, and accepted, the offer.

Unofficial offers: I've received some of them on the same day of the interview.
The formal official offer from HR: usually within a month. Fastest was about two weeks.

30 days because nurse who left the position has 30 days to take their old job back if it doesn't work out.
Wow the wait really does vary from informal offer and the hospital's formal offer. I am still interviewing with other hospitals and I guess I will continue to do that until one of the hospitals make a formal offer.
So how does on- call work in your hospital? Are all days you are off an on call day or do you have on call once a week?

I interviewed on 5/23. I just found out yesterday 6/11 that I was offered the job. I did try and reach out to the hiring manager on a few occasions. She didn't return my phone calls. I guess once they say ok, it's up to HR to advise you of an actual offer. Good luck!!
