At the end of your interview, and then actually get a job offer afterwards?

I interviewed for a new grad RN position a month ago and the nurse manager said that after we parted ways. I was heading into the peer interview which was the second part of the interview process when she said it and I told her I understood completely. Well I haven't heard anything back yet... Is that a bad sign if they say that phrase?? lol

Hi Klone,

I actually say this at the end of the interviews because it was true on my end. I interviewed about 50 well qualified nurses, but only have an opening for 10. I did tell them that "we/I have a lot of people to interview". But I do give them a time frame to hear back (for a second interview). I extended offers to 5 already. Out of courtesy, I send out letters to the nurses who I do not hire, so they would not be waiting and passing on other opportunities.

Yes, I've heard that phrase, then been offered a job a couple of times.

Yes. When I got fun shed with my peer interview for my current job, they told me there were other interviews happening. I got the job.

I heard that twice in recent interviews and was offered both jobs. When I interviewed staff in the past, I was always honest that I had other interviews coming up and then I would give them a timeline of when they should hear back from me one way or another.

Klone, I was told that they had a lot of other people to interview and it would take about 2 weeks to make a decision and let me know. I got the job-and the offer came just shy of 24 hours after the interview. So yep! It happens!!
