I've been living and working in UK for almost 7 years now and I have a mortgage and a British citizenship. I went to San Francisco, LA, Las vegas and Reno last year to check out the places, their lifestyle, schools for my kids and possible job for my husband who is an electrical engineer. I am telling you the possiblities and opportunities are endless. Nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 4 to 5 while I have to struggle with 15 acutely ill patients with 2 care assistants (MAU) or 10 patients in A&E Majors. :flamesonb
I pay £400 - 450 for my tax, £220 for NI and £130 for pension and my take home pay 0.00 as you have to pay the mortgage £895, council tax £135, water and gas £85, mobile/phone/tv/internet £100 and TV license £13 and credit cards and groceries.
So, hopefully I will be able to pack up my bags and book my ticket for USA soon. Good luck for all of us.:balloons:

you are right......life here in england is just enough for the whole family to buy the basic needs, pay the bills, mortgage and credit card....no more...no less...

if i answered this 2005... I would say USA
I am a Filipino and since late 2005 there was a retrogression so now i am looking at 3 countries... Canada, Auz and NZ
I am a second courser and heard that NZ does not accept it so I am left to two.
I originally wanted Canada but I wa thinking of my retirement and cost of visiting my home country very so often so I am choosing Auz.
Auz is only 7.5 hours away from the Philippines. There is also snow in the mountains so I can still learn to ski and a lot of shorelines so i can still enjoy the beach. The best of both worlds.
Auz is where I want to be.
With 3 kids and a supportive husband, I am looking forward to migrate there in years time.
So help me God.

USA- 7 year wait.
Saudi- go if they have an opening
Canada- not all areas accept Philippine education, wonderful country, and you will be making a heck of a lot more than you are making now.
Australia -beautiful country, may have to do a program before practicing.

i'm a registered nurse in canada and usa. i visited usa many times. few years ago my ultimate goal was to work and live in usa. canada is the best for me specifically metro vancouver. i like the working conditions and universal healthcare.
FYI... my friend from Ontario who is a second courser graduate from the Philippines just passed the CRNE and He did not have to do additional studies in Canada.
It just proves that Philippines education is accepeted but it is a case to case basis and ou really have to challenge the NUrsing Council.
But again weather is still muh better in OZ... so OZ is still my choice

It is all done on an individual basis and goes on what is on your transcripts. There are a couple of threads in the International forum discussing ways for Canada

I prefer US most of all for it has a better way of living even if you have to do everything and good health insurance.
