hello people! just wanting to have a survey on which countries nurses from philippines prefer to work.

tell me your reasons......

tah!

maria :D

USA.. but with the retrogression and the recession I'm thinking of trying out other countries.. maybe Canada, Singapore or other Asian countries.

Singapore actually requires several years of experience as an RN before they will permit you to get licensed there as an RN.

Japan will not even license their own nationals that have trained in other countries, they most definitely will not issue a license unless some very strict requirements are met. And we have not yet seen one nurse from another country be able to meet them.

What other Asian countries are you considering?

yes in the US u spend dollars too but its so so cheap...especially the food....imagine i went to costco and i ate a hotdog, i had a drink, 2 slices of pizza..and guess what? i paid only $10...here? if i had that order it might be around 25 euro...so converted to dollars its about 37 dollars...so really in the US cost of living is not expensive...even the house...here families do share a home..why? cause its too expensive...more often then not we only rent...seldom buy a house....also cars if u got one u have to pay road tax every month, insurance, plus some misc..and your petrol.....and our television here we pay tv license around 200 dollars a yr for each tv....our tax here as well always 40% for me since im single and im a nurse...

I doubt they have made it easy for you

I'm A UK filipino nurse for 4 years now here but have decided to move to australia to a much more fulfilled career than here basically. I should say it's never been good for me here. Though I met my husband and started my family here. But friends of mine here are really great. Hoping a good life in Australia too.

true...Australia is the best place on earth...very solemn and the life is not so fast track and not chaotic, everything is in order...

however, you just have to do a bridging program:cry: which really cost a lot, but there is a single state who will register you at a minimum cost:up::D...you can be a RN in the state of Queensland by just taking an exam and will cost you AUD$800.00, excluding expenses (the other pathway is a bit expensive but cheaper compared to other australian states).

ive heard and known a lot of filipino nurses who are/were working in the UK and a lot of UK nurse nationals who are/were transferring from the UK to australia...why? australia's offering great benefits and the cost of living is not high compared to the UK's.

as of the moment Australia is not in recession, the government have JUST avoided it...

see you all in down under, and together we will be an AUSSIE...:yeah:

UK nurses don't need to do the bridging program to register in Australia

UK nurses don't need to do the bridging program to register in Australia

If they trained in the UK then true they do not have to do a bridging course but that is because of the training. If a foreign nurse has worked I think more than 2 years in the UK and training meets approval then I don't think they have to do a bridging program but a lot will depend on training and transcripts plus experience

UK nurses don't need to do the bridging program to register in Australia

i beg to differ...it vary from case to case...a lots of UK nurses are still doing the Bridging Program if they do not meet the requirements in australia...ive known a lot of them actually, and even UK nationals have to take english exam IF they dont meet english requirement...i dont know why, but that what ive known.

Not everything is cheap. just because you went to Costo, that is most definitely not a routine restaurant.

You would be paying $4.00 and up for a slice of pizza as well as that price for a kosher hotdog like they have at Costco but you will not find them at most places. Most people do not go for their meals to Costco, so take that out of the equation.

Your taxes are going to be about the same in the US in most locales. What you are calling a road tax is included in the price of the license plates that are renewed and paid for yearly.

But you forgot a major biggie, and that is that there are close to 10% unemployed all over the country here, so when one cannot buy things because they do not have a job, then everything gets affected; including nurses. Hospitals have lay-offs, and people lose their health insurance.

As well as the fact that the employer needs to prove that they cannot hire an American for the job right now and that is going to be impossible to do.

They are an agency, and nothing more than that. They do not make things easier on someone. You are paying them a large sum of money to do the paperwork for you; and nothing more than that. They do not issue visas or do anything else.

You could easily do it on your own and save quite a bundle of money as well. And you still have no guarantee that you will even be accepted by the Aussie government. Agencies do not have any control over it.

If the nurse was born in the UK and did their training there, then they do not need to do a language exam. Just because someone now has UK citizenship, it does not mean that they were born there or did their training in the UK; and this is what things are based on. Not where one holds citizenship.

When you use the word national, it means that they were born in another country and obtained citizenship there later on.

well yes costco is not an everyday routine..i just took it as an example in low cost snacks, iv tried fine dining in wynn hotel in vegas, some fine dinning in LA and New york..still is cheap...and yes plates are also paid in here under misc...which is monthly and not yearly....thousands have lost jobs for the past 2 weeks now averaging atleast 950 lay offs a day..well thats according to their news here which i think is true since ireland houses more immigrants than nationals and now unemployment is a big prob here both nationals and immigrants.
