When I was a student; "My instructor said that smelly poop smells like cabbage. If that is what cabbage smelled like, I wouldn't eat any.

my wife poured some NSAIDS for me the other day
when i was hurting
she poured them into a med cup, handed me the med cup and a glass of water
and stood there to watch me take them :)

Then there was that time I mistook the "drowsy eye" alcohol warning on the oxycontin bottle for a "winking eye" alcohol suggestion....

One thing I learned very early as a psychiatric nurse: Not all of the nut cases are on the other side of the desk.

Why is it that lab never calls to tell you that your patient came up VRE positive before you spend an entire shift going in and out of their room?
(And why is there no "crawly skin" emoticon?)

No, but it seems like a large number of - shall we say, "unique" - personalities hire on in mental health units - like the LPN who sprinkled salt on the windowsill to keep the evil spirits out of a schizophrenic patient's room.

My psych nursing instructor told me that you have to be crazy to be a psych nurse. I'm not sure it's a requirement for the job, but I can certainly see why he thought so!
