New Grad Jobs in North Dakota?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I hear North Dakota is hiring even though the housing may be tough.

Is this true? If so which hospital? Do you think a large hospital will hire me as a new grad into the ICU or Med Surg?

I have a BSN but it's been two years since I've had clinical experience (ICU). I have an internship coming up in January but I am hoping to find a job before that or have a job lined up after the internship.

I applied to 15 hospitals in Texas so far and got one interview and two call backs. Interview didn't go anywhere :( and the two hospitals haven't called me back. I am starting to get desperate here and the Job Search was even tougher than I imagined.

HELP!!!!!!!!!! I am willing to go anywhere in the country.

Specializes in Hematology/Oncology.
I graduated with my BSN last June 2013, but received my RN license this month. Since it's been over a year since I graduated, I don't qualify for most new grad residency programs. The struggle to find a job is REAL! I decided to take the plunge and applied to St. Alexius. I'm desperate to start my career!

I love my job, I am sure you will too.

Datmurse,

Hi! My interview went well. The clinical coordinator said they will be doing a background check on me and will get back to me in about a week! thanks!;) I hope I get the job!

If they mention background check That means they already moved to the next step in the process to make sure you arent a serial killer. I am sure you have it

DatMurse,

Fingers crossed! :)

Simplicitea,

I know how you feel! I graduated last year too. We will find something!;)

Fingers crossed for you, i have interview on thursday, what kind of general quiz they asked you... im nervous cause i want these positions so bad....

Henrica80,

Hi! I think its normal to be a little bit nervous before an interview! I say practice general interview questions : Tell me about yourself, what are your strengths and weaknesses etc. Search on google,There are plenty of interview tips.;) If I remember correctly, the clinical coordinator only asked me 4-5 questions! Goodluck!

Hi Henrica80! I started working at St. A's a couple weeks ago and I remember my interview wasn't that bad. They asked me very general questions...what are your strengths, an example of when you went above and beyond, why you want to work there, an example of when you gave good customer service, etc. They even asked me how many days I called off in the last 6 months and what would be acceptable reasons to call off. I was nervous as well before but once I started talking to them it felt more like a conversation than an interview.

RNEABV...I hope you get the job! I'm getting trained to circulate (and eventually scrub) women's surgery OR and it's right by L/D and mom and baby. Everyone I have met has been super nice and I really enjoy working there so far. Good luck to you. :)

Kinbari08,

I really hope I get the job! Can you tell I am sure anxious? lol. It has been so frustrating and hard to find a job here in California! I am willing to move and get experience! By the way, its good to hear that you like working there :)

RNEABV, I got your PM but I can't reply since I don't have enough posts. If you feel comfortable PMing me your email address, I could send you an email and answer your questions!

Just got hired at St. Alexius, start date is september 2. I'm excited and nervous at the same time since I know the winter is brutal there. Luckily I'm able to come home with my family as my husband and my 5 yo daughter are moving with me too. I guess I'm going to see DatNurse there as we will be working on the same floor :D

I should graduate at the end of this year with my asn, and honestly being from New York, there are no jobs there. Am seriously thinking about relocating when I graduate.

Do they run credit checks also?
