Why do some nurses like to whine and complain i

Nurses Professionalism

I am a registered a nurse and I work in a long term care facility. I noticed that some nurses like to whine and complain. I remember at a previous job I worked at, also in a LTC facility that there were certain nurses that like to complain. One nurse in particular, her name was Mary X was always whining and complaining that I was helping her enough. I was the charge nurse. I did all the charting, followed up on all the lab reports and carried out all the orders. I would also handle any emergency that would come up. I was in charge of two floors and the supervisor was in charge of the whole building. I would also do the fingersticks and hang all the feedings when I wasn't too busy. I also did all the admissions. Yet this particular nurse was still whining. Nothing I did was enough for her. It's like she wanted me to do her job too. Any thoughts on this?

Uhhh, I would delete that nurses name & replace it with a fake name. Nursing is a small world & she might be on this site or someone who knows her.

Deja vu?

Why do I feel like there was a similar thread earlier?

Hope it feels better to vent :) I'm sure there are people like this in every profession. I know it seems I have some patients and coworkers like this myself. Carry on....

Am I the only one who's amused by the idea of starting a thread to complain about nurses who complain?

Why do some nurses like to talk about how great they are compared to others?

There are whiners everywhere, not just in nursing. Just scroll thru Facebook and you'll see, lol. Some people are only happy when they have something to complain about.

Because some people are just whiners and complainers. It is just who they are.

No lol

Whining and complaining is a separate course in all nursing programs where a skills test must be passed with 100% accuracy or the student is not allowed to graduate from the program. In addition, a continuing competency exam is given every three years and must be passed with 100% accuracy or the nurse is not allowed to retain their nursing license.

It's not just nurses. It's people.
