We were just thinking of the different types of members we have and what motivates them to do what they do.
We have retired nurses, veteran nurses, first-time nurses, nursing students, those who are interested in 'nursing', those who love to spread the joy of nursing, young, old, ... the list goes on and on.
What motivates you?
Do you have any short motivational quotes, inspirational words, or saying that you live by?
Share your favorite short quote(s) and maybe we can turn it into an art piece that can motivate nurses, nursing student, and all those who support nursing.
If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

GOD, my family and the people whom I'm going to help keeps me motivated.
"Most of all, our way is a way of sacrifice and bearing pain in order to relieve the pain of others. When you study now,when you want to stop and rest,do not rest. Each moment of pain you experience is consciously undertaken in an attempt to improve oneself so you are skilled to take care of others.When you take on this pain,you are helping to dispel the suffering of the world" -Dr.Conrad Fischer
"If others can do,why cant I?"
“Remember that any suffering you may encounter along life’s way is only temporary and in some way,may be the cause of future happiness”
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” – Philippians 4:13
“For I know the plans I have for you,declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,plans to give you hope and a future” –Jeremiah 29:11
“Be strong,don’t be afraid,don’t be discourage, the Lord is with you” -2Chronicles 20:15
"If you have love and honesty in your heart, you got it all" -J.
I personally think the motivational posters & sayings are stupid. Except for the "Demotivators". Those I like, especially "Mistakes - It could be the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others" & "Consulting - If you're not part of the solution, there's good money to be made in prolonging the problem"
Am I cynical? Perhaps. Pragmatic? Yep. High self-esteem? Yep.

One of my motto's which motivates me is reflected on my chosen signature....
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning but anyone can start today and make a new ending ~ ee maria robinson
Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.
In addition, I recently saw a remake of fame and it's quote became embedded in my brain which goes as follows and I quote "dream it, earn it, live it,"
