Option 4

Option 4 for the first time in over 4 years! Plenty of 1-3 but first for a 4. Hmm!

I've only had option 4 once, that was almost exactly 1 year ago. That would've been at about the 1 1/2 year mark for me. I never knew why they popped up with that one. Most of mine are option 1. Let's see:

Option 1: 43

Option 2: 4

Option 3: 11

Option 4: 1

Do you all just have 4 options?

My program has fifteen options and I occasionally pop a "special option" that is a fill in code. I've been tested on about 6 of the avalaible options plus one special option code in one year. No clue what they are, but that's fine with me. It's just a heck of a lot of options!

Specializes in OR.

Mine all seem to be the same number with an A B or C appended to them. As far back as I can remember it's been C. I vaguely remember a few As and Bs but mostly Cs. I too have no clue what the difference is and don't really care. Not like anyone would tell me if I asked.

I get option three or four now at my request. They have the ETG per my caseworker. I tend to have false positives on option one which is just the ethanol alcohol, so we do the ETG to avoid this. Option 4 test for just about everything including over the counters like Benadryl, ephedrine, ect, ect. Medications used in surgery.

My form for Quest has 12 options listed, but I've never been selected for anything besides 1-4.

That seems strange to me if Option 1 is ETOH only, because that's not everyone's DOC, and I'd guess it's not even the majority. It's like they're trying to catch us breaking the rules so we can be punished, it's got nothing to do with keeping us from relapsing back to our DOC if they're not even testing for it.

Wow!!! I'm impressed Recovering. You keep track. I don't & I'm in RecoveryTrek. I almost always get Option 3

Heard it from case workers lips, Option 1 is ethanol only. Option 3 and 4 are EtG.

Is this for first lab? If so then this program is just beyond stupid. I am often tested for option one.. but am allowed to consume alcohol per my contract....

TPAPN uses Quest. But still, alcohol is forbidden, yes, so I get that they test for it, but a lot of us are in monitoring for opiates, and that rarely gets tested for. Hmmm.

I don't even know if the primary goal of the testing is to detect drinking or drugging. Wouldn't a timed hair test do that a few times a year? I think the primary goals are to exert control, punish even more for things like dilute urines and forgetting to check for a test, keeping the nurse in recovery terrified and to make a ton of money for those who administer the test

I had an option 4 on March 6. My results just came back as abnormal. My last abnormal came back for a low creatinine. But I am on the ketogenic diet now so I bet my creatinine is high. Anyone have experience with this?
