Option 4

Option 4 for the first time in over 4 years! Plenty of 1-3 but first for a 4. Hmm!

I had an option 4 on March 6. My results just came back as abnormal. My last abnormal came back for a low creatinine. But I am on the ketogenic diet now so I bet my creatinine is high. Anyone have experience with this?

Not sure. I did strict ketogenic for 10 months and never had any issues...But abnormal usually speaks to urine concentration one way or another, so it could be possible? I don't know.

Option 1 tests for common opiates, the typical other common abused drugs.Option 2 adds cough syrup and Ambien. Option 3 adds Demerol, suboxone, and a few others narcs I can't remember. Option 4 is all that and over the counters,antidepressants...a whole bunch of things. I had the quest print out of what all options test for but lost it.

I can't believe they gave you a list of what the tests are for! They won't tell us anything! I use Firstlab or Firstsource or labcorp.. I really don't know cuz I see all 3 of these names on my COC. We have like 12 options.

I've only gotten 1 or 2 so far.. mostly 1.

Here's what I don't understand. If option 1 is Ethanol (along with whatever opiates) and option 2 adds ETg.. meaning it just skips straight to the ‘lets see if you were really drinking ‘ ... then what is the point of doing just ethanol? Because if it is positive.. they are just going to confirm it with an ETG test right away.. correct? It's very confusing to me!

These tests make zero sense to me.. as I mentioned in another post.. I only test positive SOMETIMES for benzo's (they never confirmed that was the result, but I know I take them).

And then there is the day I had my shoulder surgery ( of course I got picked that day) I was put unde general.. took my benzo that morning, was given IV verses, fenatnyl, dilaudid, and oral Percocets, plus whatever I got while under. I tested NEGATIVE for that test!!!!

No clue!!!!!

They didn't. Quest had it on line. The link is hard to find.

I have never had an option 4 either. When we used recovery trek, I got 1,2, and 3. Now that we have switched to Affinity, I have had only one option 3, and the rest have all been option 1.

Want to know my theory??? (I am super cynical) I bet option 1 is cheapest for them. They bill us the same no matter the option, but I bet if option 1 is truly only ethanol and the common drugs of abuse panel, it is cheaper than ETG etc. Affinity probably profits more that way.

Y'all know, it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! Someone is getting rich off of our unfortunate situation.

I agree. My case worker did tell me option 1 with ethanol is the one they input to pull most frequently once your over 6 months in. I was surprised that they agreed to let me not have option 1's and only options with EGT because I think it's more money but I'm not paying anything more. With option 1 no longer being scheduled for me I'm getting only 3 and 4. They seem to alternate. But since 4 has over 80 drugs that's got to be more expensive. It's nice to know they're working with me though. Getting false positives on the ethanol and then having the split go for an ETG was costing me an extra 60 bucks.

Each one of my options has a unique price. The cheapest so far has been $32, the most expensive was $150, but that was blood. My most expensive urine was around $68 so far. My cheapest blood was $90. But I haven't been tested for several of the other options yet, so who knows what they may cost.

I always get option three. Its $39 for the test and another $15 for the collection fee. I think the PeTH test was about $200

My option 1 is 39$ and option 2 is 42. The coloction fee is 49$ at the urgent care I got to (because they have longer hours). The other collection site is 25$ but the close at 1330. It's harder to make it there.. but I also refer to them as the test Nazi's.

I once couldn't go very much so I put the cup on the floor and then picked it up to try some more. She made a huge deal of it.. told me " let's go your time is up" and then told me she had to mark on my cox the my temp was a bit low and she heard me putting down and picking up the cup. I was like REALLY??!!! Now you guys get to treat Me like I'm a scumbag too?!

Also they use outlet second specimen (the split) for confirmation. I'm pretty sure anyway. Why else split it!

Okay, let me get this straight. The monitoring program picked a facility that closes at 1330? In what universe does that make any sense?

And.........your time is up??? They limit the amount of time you are allowed to pee??

OMG! This is all too much!

I get along well with the staff at the lab I go to. They greet me like an old friend, since I've been there so many times! But when I have gotten other people who don't know me, there have been several times they've told me how many minutes I have to finish. I don't remember what the time limit is, and I'm sure that time limit applies all the time, it's just that certain employees are more "by the book" than others, so the ones who don't know me read off all the rules, (don't flush, don't wash your hands), and yes, time limit is one of them. Glad I don't have a shy bladder!!

I get along well with the ones i pay 49$ , they have seen me for tests as well as physical therapy (months and months of it) as well as post surgery. They are Super cool the other ones are by the book. They have seen me many times too.. but it's 4 minutes, don't fill out my slip ahead of time and don't dare touch my stuff until I'm sign all my forms. The other place does the whole thing electronically- so no COC forms.

One chick i Call the pee nazi- I don't like her.. I once told her I left a little ‘present' for her.. so hold her nose... lmao!
