Ending the old and starting a new

Nurses Recovery

Published

 I found this site 4 years ago when alcohol had ruined my life. I self reported to the BON and asked for help. Boy did I get help.LOL After my outpatient rehab and 1 year of aftercare getting a sponsor working the steps and almost 5,000 dollars just in observed drug screens, today 12/31/2014 I have officially completed my AP program and fully released from the BON with no charges or discipline on my record. Now I can start my RN to BSN program, and even do some travel nursing. It has been a very long and sometimes hard 4 years, but I made it. If you are new just keep keeping on stay sober and work the program. Happy New Years guys/gals. Now im clean and free.

Congratulations. You have demonstrated to others that self realization and self reporting is the way to go. Positive thoughts for your future being sent your way.

WOOOHHOOOO!!!!! THIS is the kind of stuff I like to read. I myself am a recovering addict and the battle is NEVER ending. I'm so proud of you for hanging in there and doing what had to be done. Admitting to one's problems is hard...trust me I know! The feelings of disgrace and shame are so painful in that moment but the mental release of that garbage brings so much peace. Don't stop attending meetings, seeking your Higher Power, meditating/praying, and just working on YOURSELF. I wish you ALL the best in 2015 and WAY TO GO!

Thanks all I think this is just like picking up a chip it lets others know there is hope and if it worked for 1 person it can also work for you. I woke up smiling this and my wife asked why, I replied I do not have to check in with First Lab today or any other day, I am a free man.
