Please i need help and suggestion..

I applied for NCLEX-RN through Florida Board of Nursing. I am on H4 visa(dependant

visa). I cannot get Social Security Number. But Florida cannot issue license without SSN,

even if i pass the test. I thought,just with the result i can endorse to another state.But

here the thing is different. Please i need suggestion an help.

Duplicate threads merged and moved to nurse registration forum per site ToS. You will not be issued a license without a SSN only a NCLEX pass letter. You will not have a license to endorse to another state. Many states are requiring a valid SSN to apply or be issued a professional license as this is a federal mandate that all states must ultimately enforce. It is slowly being enforced through states. Vermont recently adopted this mandate. As you know you do not have work rights on an H4 and therefore are not entitled to a social security number.

As mentioned a lot of states now will not issue a license without a US SSN which you can't get without a legal way of working in the US ie Immigrant visa or Work visa. H4 can't work so all you can do is try and find a employer once you have passed NCLEX and once you have work/immigrant visa apply for US SSN and then let state know and they will then issue a license enabling you to work

since we are the topic of licensing. Can a RN hold licenses in different states without losing the license they have currently. My husband and I want to move to Idaho, and I want to start the process now. any information would be good.

Nurses in the US hold many licenses and continue to do so as long as they keep meeting the state's requirements

Hi, Initially I applied for NCLEX-RN through Vermont Board of Nursing. But my CES report

did not meet the requirements for Vermont board. Then i applied for Florida Board of

Nursing.

And florida board approved my CES report. I took the test,but i lost. And Florida board

requires SSN to issue a license. I do not get SSN,because i am on H4

visa. I am worried with all this process to NCLEX. Texas board does not require SSN. so

now I am applying for NCLEX-RN through Texas Board of Nursing. I donno whether it

will accept my CES report or not. Can anyone tell,what areas does texas board require in

CES report? Please help me.

No matter if you pass the NCLEX-RN from CA, TX, FL or the Moon, even if one state grants you the actual license, any US employer is going to need a valid S/S# to even apply for any job or the application will be rejected.

where are you living? Some states limit the amount of times you can take the nclex.
