Need advice with my NMC

World Registration

Hi guys. So here's the thing...I've gone through processing my NMC and I've sent all the documents that was asked for and now I'm just waiting for my decision letter. But my worry is this, I only got 2168 hours of clinical practice, a few hours short from the required minimum of 2300 hours. What are the chances that I would qualify for the ONP, and what are the chances that I would be rejected? The agency I'm working with told me to just submit the requirements, but I still can't help but be worried because I don't know anyone that I can ask who actually had the same dilemma but was still able to get qualified for the program. Please help. :up:

I see. I find it surprising though that only through phone call that the final interview was conducted. From what I know of IPAMS (don't take my word for it, there might be changes), if the final interview (with the employer/recruiter him/herself) is not possible in person, skype interview is the way to go.

@sassyces

Are you applying under CTN-IPAMS as well? Were you interviewed via Skype?

@Miccachok

I felt the same at first, but I was called immediately that afternoon by their UK office. She said she'll be touching base with the Filipino agency (IPAMS) regarding my documents. I wasn't sure either if I was really accepted, my Filipino agent said I already got in since I've spoken to a nurse manager. But then and there, I was already given a conditional job offer, and the pay was really higher. And the benefits are really good. Right now, the best any agency can offer as far as I know.

Will I be an agency nurse or a permanent nurse in a hospital.

In the job offer, it says you will be a permanent nurse in a hospital, then the option for travelling comes after exposure in the hospital for about a year.

In my case, I'm still waiting on another call whether I have to do a Skype/phone interview after my walk-in assessment. It's a bit confusing as well because I don't think I've gone thru a formal interview yet. When I visited IPAMS office last week, they also made me fill up a lot of forms including the skills assessment checklist. I don't even know who assesses that. But my agent says to wait on the UK office's response regarding my documents.

I attended the final interview here in Cebu last February and was given the conditional contract. For the skype interview, it was just a presumption as most, if not all employers abroad (not UK though) does it via skype.

Thanks for this info. I was also wondering how can we do the travel nursing if we are not even orientated (my teacher told me that oriented in the British language is such) with the place and the practice.

Also, I have an offer with Colchester University Hospital with Medacs International. This one have a clearer instructions with my application.

I have also an upcoming interview with Colchester. If you don't mind, what's the interview like? Will it be more about personal questions? The email said there will be a pre-interview which tests us on drug calculations.

Hello guys! I have read the comments on this thread and it seems we are all under IPAMS though a lot of you are under CTN. May i know who are under HCL? You can email me at: [email protected]. Thank you and good luck to all of us! : )

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. Anyone being deployed this May 21 for St. Thomas?:)

We'll be agency nurses, as far as I know, since we areb't directly employed by the hospital but by CTN. Our salaries will be coming from CTN. We can only become permanent staff nurses after the required 2 years with CTN is completed and the hospital we're assigned to will absorb us.:)

If I remember correctly, Ms.***** said that after 2 years and we choose to be absorbed by our assigned hospital, they (CTN) will turn over our work visa to the hospital so they(the hospital) can renew it under their name.☺

Hi how was your working experience? Did ipams require you an elementary diploma?

Hi all, iv been reading your convos here and it is very enlightening. I have a question and hopes someone responds... I was contacted by NMC last January asking me to resubmit reference form 2. I did, and upon checking courier, it was received on 27th. When would be the perfect time for me to make a follow-up? Thanks in advance.

all the best to all of us here.
