Hi Majai,

Yes. The Wimmera Health Care Group listed on the aAHPRA approved programs of study website. I contacted each provider and when I contacted Wimmera I was put in touch with MCIE who are running this program for Wimmera. MCIE have been very helpful and upfront providing me so much information about everything, not just the course and clinicals.

Hopefully I can join ACN's March intake, it's been a week since I have submitted my LOE and completed all necessary requirements. I am still waiting for their offer. How about you?

I feel for you reYven and bigbrowneyes. False agents are the reason I am advocating the free flow of information. My agent in the Philippines tricked me into getting a Masters in Health Services Management (1.5 yrs) instead of Nursing claiming that it was in the SOL. He also told us that it is easy toget employment once onshore. To our surprise, though the degree was in the SOL, the skills assessment required years of senior management position... And the degree did not meet the Australian study requirement. We were heart broken and shattered. We couldn't find jobs either as we didn't have the appropriate certificates and the partner agent here in Melbourne was preying on us as well, advising us to move from one school to the next and extend our visas. Lucky for us, we encountered good Filipinos who taught us the ins and outs and our Australian professors were hapoy to offer their support. For most of us, we had to study a certificate course while maintaining uni, others had family here to support them. In a rare and lucky turn of events, the PSW stream for 485 visas were released. We extended our visa and shifted to a two year course which credited every unit (with the help of the professors) and once finished, we then transitioned into the 485 visas.

Most are now considering the conversion BSN as they were late in applying for AHPRA.

I once confronted the partner agent here and he was surprised when I handed his orifice onto him by saying bluntly that he was deceiving us. He told me that me and my friends will never be nurses as we will never meet the IELTS/OET requirement and that we needed more time to 'practice'. He was shocked when I slammed him with my Acad score report. He also told me not to tell my friends as 'each case is unique'.

Agents are useful, but they are not always right. Not every Filipino you meet out here is out to help you. Protect yourselves by being informed and always, verify the information passed on to you and if in doubt, call or e-mail yourselves. Never rely on a third person unless it is an immigration lawyer (licensed -- they know the ins and outs). For general info, read for yourselves and ask in forums such as this.

@om'sarah same goes here. the lady from Acn said that once the final list for the march intake is final she'll let me know if i'm for that intake ;)

Good that you're already in Sydney... In my case, I am an offshore applicant I have to fix my visa afterwards which will take weeks. The ACN officer just informed me today that she deducted that 250 AUD application fee and that I have completed all the needed requirements. She told me that all my docs was currently in review and she will update me at the soonest possible time regarding the outcome. Goodluck to everyone!😊

Thank you so much @ldvc!😊 I hope they will be able to release the outcome early next week so that I can begin my visa application. Visa application here usually takes 3 weeks to even a month or so. I felt a bit anxious about the time left for me to fix everything. I hope ACN will move their intake to mid March hahaha... see you!😊

jmolina1985 , bigbrowneyes,

That's the problem, they prey on our ignorance before getting here, what I couldn't understand though is why do they need to do that even though we're already paying for their assistance. Wish we could do something to persecute these type of people so they couldn't do these to others again. My agent was filo too, mcnally. But on the contrary, I found trustworthy filipinos as well at acfe, and helped me process my application. My other friend who just finished her iron back then were having troubles in her visa and tried seeking advice there. There she met this really good agent named ***" which is also filo who helped her get her permanent visa in a very short time.
