Hi! Did you push through with the online modules with Monash? How's it? Please do share some info because I am really interested. And, why are you leaving on the 28th? Did you already finish the online modules? I will really appreciate info from you. Thanks!

Hi any onshore applicant that had their application reviewed by the board last jan 8? Any update regarding the LOE?

Congratulations! May I ask which state you submitted your application?

I applied in NSW. :)

Thanks for ur advise jmolina and au7..

My application was reviewed last Jan 8 and I still don't have my referral letter yet. But I am actively searching for a school now, so i can prepare all the needed requirements. I am planning to do the bridging course on May or June since I have to render 3 months of service after I submitted my resignation.

See you all soon.

Kindly clarify.

You said in order to work legally in Australia, one should present a certificate. Is it the same once we have our license? Or only when you don't have a license.

By certificate I mean an Australian certificate. Were you planning to work while doing the bridging course? Before I could work as a PCW (AIN in NSW), I had to study Certificate III in Aged Care first while concurrently studying my degree from Uni, no facility would take me in despite having years of experience as an acute nurse in the Philippines (and they acknowledge that I am capable) because I didn't have the certificate.

Once we have our licenses, we would be eligible to work as an RN, be aware that most student visas are good only for the duration of the course: if it is 12 weeks then that may all be there is to it as well. If the program runs for 10 weeks and the reapplication process 4-6 weeks then I doubt the candidate using this method will be on-shore when the registration is released as the visa would have expired. I think it maybe a better option to re-enter as a student or apply on-shore if possible) once you have finished the bridging course. There you will have the chance to work as an RN (registration released) with the hours your visa enables you and at the same time, find an employer that can sponsor you. Just my 2 cents.

For the BP under a student visa, Subclass 575 (non-award) is what you maybe looking at although I urge you to clarify it with your school first if they could assist you in the visa processing as the requirements will be different from that of Subclass 600.

The CRICOS is an identifier for the Australian Government for the course. A CRICOS provider number identifies the school while a CRICOS code identifies a specific course from a provider. Example would be this .

"The Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students(CRICOS) is a register of educational institutions which have met a set of qualityassurance requirements to offer courses to international students holding studentvisas. It is an offence to offer courses to overseas students without CRICOSregistration (maximum penalty 2 years imprisonment ESOS Act 2000)."

If you will go through the Student visa pathway, make sure that the school you are communicating with has a CRICOS code for the BP otherwise, you may have problems. Anyway, not to worry, I found ETEA's: 080599A.

I cannot find IHNA's but so long as you will not come in under a student visa stream, it should be OK as the school remains to be board-approved.

Thank you for making things clear. Whew!

So you mean, you can only work as a registered nurse if you have the AHPRA released license and if you have the visa that allows a person to work on the specified allowed hours. Am I right?

Congratulations! I submitted my documents around the same time as you but I never heard from AHPRA since then. Good luck & God bless our Australian dreams!

@blessedshei yes how about you?

yes:)are you on the process of applying visa?

Yes... hopefully... see you!

Exactly right!

For those who were considered on Dec 19, it's been too long (we were advised 15 working days). I'd advise you to write a letter to your RO and inform them that you'd like them to chase up the board on your behalf. Somehwere along the lines of: "as it has been more than a month, I am concerned" in a very polite manner. Jan 26 is Australia Day, a national holiday so AHPRA was closed -- hopefully it should push through soon.

Do not be embarrassed to express your concern to your RO's. They have been supportive in my case and constantly assure me that they would respind promptly.

Cheers!
