was wondering, if i can use my husband's bank statement other than mine for support in applying visa? anyone has done this?

You mean as proof of finances? I believe you can. You'll need an affidavit of support from him.

@thel: Melbourne March intake. I think someone mentioned that the show money was approximately 20k AUD.

Hi I'm so sorry for the ignorance, (I promise to scan through the previous messages), but I want to ask those who just received their LOEs ,what month and year did you file your application. I completed mine last September and the last email I got from my RO states that my application has now progressed to a national processing team.

March 2014. Got my LoE on mid January this year. I think it means you've progressed to the assesment phase of your credentials. Sit back and do something else for now because this is the longest phase of the assessment.

Hi all.. Back in allnurses after a while.. Was here about 2 years ago when I was applying for AHPRA. Now it's my hubby's turn to get his registration.. What are the requirements now and which is the fastest state to lodge application? TIA. :)

hi,

does anyone know a school around melbourne that requires a student visa for the bridging course? I think you'll be allowed to work 20 hours a week with that kind of visa. Most of the schools I know require a business stream visa subclass 600.

Thanks.

Hi Jodti, I would caution you at this point simply because I cannot find Australian Academy of Nursing (AAoN) in the approved list.

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Approved Programs of Study

I wish to advise you as well that for a candidate to be issued a student visa, the course would need a CRICOS code, something that most bridging courses do not have.

If you want a student visa, you may have to go with UniSA's ARNTP.

I'd like to dispel a thought for you as well: Getting a job legally in AUS requires most people to have a certificate (as it is mostly a requirement), meaning you will have to train in something (locally) which ranges from food handling, barista, aged care, name it. The only ones that didn't require these were hotel room cleaners. Since you are a nurse, I'd imagine that aged care or disability would suit us best but these require the appropriate credentials.

@jmolina1985

Kindly clarify.

You said in order to work legally in Australia, one should present a certificate. Is it the same once we have our license? Or only when you don't have a license.

Hi jotdi,

Redarding student visa formthe bridging course, ETEA staff asked me of visa stream I will be using. She mentioned visa 600 (which is usually the visa for bridging), or visa 572 (student visa with 40 hours work right every 2 weeks). If I have read it right, ETEA has a CRICOS provider code. You can verify with them regarding that, though for me, I will not risk taking the visa 572 for now but i may subsequently change to that visa during the bridging. hope this helps

Hello nurses! Great day! I am happy to share that have received my LOE/ Referral letter from the IQNM last 22 Jan 2015. I filed my application last Aug 2014 and was surprised to receive news early this year. Indeed, patience, prayers and faith are our best company. :) Next step, school hunt! Is it really that hard to look for BP slots this time? Also, are we supposed to receive a snail mail LOE from IQNM other than the one we got in our email? Thank you!

Congratulations! May I ask which state you submitted your application?
