Filipino Nursing Graduate Applying for CA NCLEX-RN

World Registration

Published

Hello, everybody. I'm Ziggy. I just want to ask how I can send a document directly from the school to the board?

I have sent these documents to the board:

- Nursing Transcripts that reflect posted degree

- Educational Breakdown Form

- Related Learning Experience (RLE)

- COMPLETE record of you clinical cases (actual and assisted deliveries, cord dressings, major and minor procedures) reflecting exact dates, locations procedures performed and instructor signature etc.

- Academic calendar which reflects exact dates each semester, all holidays, and all breaks beginning and end

These documents came from the school. But the school will not process the mailing of the documents so I asked a friend of mine from the Philippines to process it for me.

Then the board replied and ask me for:

- Clinical Record of Instruction and/or Related Learning Experience (RLE) Logbook

I then called my school to ask them if they had a logbook and they told me they don't. So I gave the board a call. I got to speak with my analyst *********. I told him that the school doesn't have a logbook for RLE. And he then went thru the documents that we're sent out and asked me "who is ********?" *********is my friend who sent out the documents. This I told the analyst. And he deemed all the documents invalid. He told me that if a third party gets access to the documents that are to be sent over to them, it is automatically deemed invalid. And he wants me to send all the documents again but this time he wants it to come directly from the school.

My concern is that the school doesn't mail out documents for its students' behalf. The students have to send those documents out themselves.

I was just wondering how I can go about sending them the documents directly from the school.

I hope someone has an answer to my query. Thank you in advance! God bless :)

I graduated from the Philippines but a USA citizen from California. My school was able to send out all the documents. I just had to pay for shipping fees. I didn't even have to send a copy of my clinical cases. But I am applying to Florida since it is less strict. My other batch mates who are also from California are having just as much trouble getting their records evaluated. Just ask your school to send the records even if it means you paying for the shipping fees. I don't know if you leave far away from your school, since you had someone else send it for you, but it would be better to talk to the people in your school in person to get things done faster.

hi Kabayan,

I happen to take CA nclex way back 2008 from P.I. I know base on my cousins, it's much stricter now, and some even go back for clinicals. Your school should have RLE posted in TOR, if not call the registrar or nursing coordinator instructor and tell your situation. For sending documents to BRN, make sure the return address is from the school not your friend/family name.

I think that would be fraud. Better hope they don't find out and not advice you should give someone. Don't do it. Convince the school and pay for shipping. Do it officially and lawfully no matter how long it takes.

As long as the school seals the envelope and stamps it along the seal so no tampering can be seen you should be OK with your friend obtaining the envelope and posting it on.... That is what many others have done with no issues

Hi Ziggy, i have the same problem my school doesn't have rle log book. We submitted everything that my school has, BON has not asked me for rle logbook but i have a feeling they would. My school's college of nursing closed down couple of years ago and the registrar only keeps transcripts, RLE hours, and clinical rotation summary that has the hospitals and total hours but does not include the dates as it has been shredded 5 yrs after I graduated. :( i dont know what I would do, I dont think the board will accept that reason but what can we do if our school doesn't have it

hi! What is this RLE LOgBOOK/and or Clinical Record of Instruction? It needs to cover the time you were studying, right? As well as the ACADEMIC CALENDAR and Copy of Clinical Rotation Schedule. Thank you.

I'm in total agreement with Dgabrielt!

Exactly, which is why the CA BRN has been looking at ALL the transcripts from the Phils under a microscope review.

You guys can all put the entire blame game on our previous PH nurses and grads who decided to the best way to get a license in CA was to submit false documentations.

Many have been found using false documents and ended up in a CA jail with possible license suspension or revocation (bye bye license).

Don't even need to ask why the CA BRN evaluators are making it "stricter" or harder to get into CA (via endorsement), ask your fellow PH nurses and grads on why did they DO this and simply messed up the entire application process.

CA BRN is merely doing their job, nothing more, nothing less. I do not buy into the conspiracy theories of making more room for local and US nurses and grads.

Guys, you'll not be the first to be denied the CA license (by either as a first-time or endorsement application) if you're unable to submit the minimum documentation, again, due to previous PH nurses and grads who have sent in fraudulent paperwork.

There are many other posters here who have been denied the license even after receiving a CA job offer but unable to complete their application due to the lack of the required paperwork as everyone here is mentioning.

One poster was even working at a CA job only soon after received a letter from the CA BRN to return the license within so many days or face legal action (this was done after further review after she received the license).

The only option you have if you're unable to submit the long lost and or unable to obtain at all is to apply under the appeals process in writing within one year of the letter that denies your application.

You will need a better reason other than the school no longer keeps the records, the required documents were burnt in their office, the school closed down, school no longer exists, etc.

You should not be surprised if upon the CA BRN appeals board or meeting, stays with their initial decision of rejecting the application under the appeals process.

Remember the entire proof of the burden is on you and only you, not the CA BRN.

Click the above link on why the CA BRN is cracking down on ALL transcripts and the need to review them very closely and they require your paperwork with possible cause for rejection or denial.
