  1. hi kat, I happen to check our union manual pay grade scale. I'm in critical care unit, starting rate without experience is $34.45, while non critical starts with $30.07. Our max salary pay with 35 years plus experience is $51.66 while non critical $45.14. I happen to have a friend in St. rose working in critical care unit, I asked the starting rate without experience = $36, again this will differ if you're in critical or non critical area. I do believe St. rose pays well in Las Vegas. I used to to work in New york and Cali, Though the rate was higher than here, I actually saves more than what I earned before. Hope this helps

thank you for these tips. planning to take the test this year. I'm gonna start studying! Congratulation! :)
  3. hello, if you wanna work to a different area other than psych. you should apply a full time job in a hospital, from there... 6 months after, you can request to be transfer to a different department. Good luck! :)
  4. i always have protein bar in my pocket, bottle water which i refill every now and then, and lunch box (leftovers from dinner). Sometimes I don't have time to eat, so I always bring protein drink.
  5. hi Kabayan, I happen to take CA nclex way back 2008 from P.I. I know base on my cousins, it's much stricter now, and some even go back for clinicals. Your school should have RLE posted in TOR, if not call the registrar or nursing coordinator instructor and tell your situation. For sending documents to BRN, make sure the return address is from the school not your friend/family name.
  6. I took the test, it looks like a personality test. the choices are: very effective, effective, somewhat effective, ineffective, very ineffective. Luckily I passed the test. Thank you for all the help
  7. Thank you for the reply. IMC- Intermediate care, I believe it's a stepdown unit if not mistaken. ok, gonna start reading then! :)
  8. Hi bevialbe. good pay rates will vary. I have a friend (came from the Philippines), She's been working in P.I. for 5 years as a nurse and recently move here. Apparently her hospital experience didn't really count. So basically, they will base the salary with the years of experience (US job) but this really depends with the hospital. For hospitals you can try Sunrise or UMC if you're looking for a trauma center. Other than that, if you wanna have experience, just apply any hospital. Goodluck!
  9. Hello, I'm a nurse in Rehab, but wanted to try hospital job. I'm applying for a job in IMC and spoke to a nursing recruiter. She scheduled me for a Nursing Assessment Test. Can somebody advice/help me to give me some idea about this? pointers to study? Thank you in advance
