Board of Registered Nursing - Licensure by Examination
i"m aware of the rn.ca.gov initial requirements, i'm inquiring about their reply letter. does anyone have a most recent 'list of requirements' to send to them from the school? thanks!

you see, it would depend on the situation of the applicant. If your cases aren't completed with the corresponding theories, the state will most likely require you to take up medical surgical nursing and also the ob cases in a accredited school. Well the school will have to send a copy of your cases to the board, a break down of your clinicals and subjects with your transcript. If you lack hours on certain classes they will also require you to take the specified class to meet the hours required by the board. From what I've read from this thread, some were required to take microbiology while others were not. Others were required to take up IV training before they could get their ATT while others weren't. It would also depend on the state you are trying to apply to.

ToRpeng.R.N hello there. i grad. from philippines i took the nclex 3 times in california and failed so i i applied through cgfns for nevada was denied because i took the nclex 3 times and they wanted me to take level 1 and 2 medical surgical. so i decided to apply in hawaii...do you know if i will have any problems taking it in hawaii? or have you heard of foreign grads having a hard time applying there?
Here's a recent thread if you follow towards the last few pages:

HI for the time being is one of the "fastest and easiest" State and since you mentioned you're going to plant your roots there, you should be okay. Word of caution, like the other States, they could change their requirements any time, any day.
Not sure about the NCLEX exam taking limitation, you're best to simply contact the HI BON directly to get a straight answer. But do report back on what you find out!
Good luck!

Hmmmm... All nclex questions are the same no matter which state yo take it. Itwill really depend on the takers itself but i can tell you now that majority those who applied for hawaii always got their papers approve.. Hawaii depends on th ces report for evaluation.. If they dont see any problem with the ces chance are good..

i believe most states except Cali requires like CGFN for the CES or IELTS, or sometimes the TOEFL..if you were denied in california, you next best bet is either TExas or Hawaii...both states ONLY require CES and hawaii's application is only $40 texas is around $140...if you hve processed your CES and everything is OK then i would suggest take Hawaii because they're not that hard when it comes to eligibility, they'll send you the letter one week after receiving the report from CES
Hi, TorpengRN, I recently applied to Cali Board of Nursing but unfortunately got denied due to concurrency issue. Im interested in applying to Texas but I read that there's a jurisprudence exam and if you graduated more than two years without experience you have to attend a refresher course? Is it true? i really want to know more infos regarding applying to Texas. If you could only help me I will really appreciate. Thanks ?
