CGFNS-CVS New York process ?

World Registration

Published

Hi,

I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.

I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.

Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.

However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point.. :(

How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?

Please kindly suggest me !!!

Hello, Fellow Nurses!..i am new here. Please extend your help to me. I am so confused with the CVS for NY.. My questions are:1. Do I have to go to my school and PRC to get those verification from them or the CGFNS will be the one to get them thru mail?

2. I am currently working as a Dental Assistant right now, and I have the license,too--Do i still have to include it in the information, even if my license here in the middle east is not a REGISTERED NURSE?..please help. :(

CGFNS is responsible for getting all relevant paperwork. Include everything and CGFNS will decide whether they need to get it or not

Thank you so much! :)

Hi. What happened to your CVS? I also have a problem getting an update on my PRC license on my CVS application.

Hi. I'm already waiting for CGFNS to receive my validation forms from PRC and from my school. How's your application?

I had my license in PRC renewed by third week of Dec. at a regional office. PRC Main office in Manila processed my papers for the CGFNS CVS service second week of January. Waiting for it to arrive at CGFNS office. Problem is, the status of my CVS is already ready for submission because it already reached the 180 days limit. :(

new york office of the professions doesnt really nead your prc. cgfns cvs when i processed it waived my prc requirement. the most impt is only the school requirement .

I see. That is good to hear. So NYSED issued you a NY license already?

My CVS CGFNS status has been "ready for submission" for several days now. I wonder whats taking them so long to finalize the report for submission. I hope i can get the NY license by end of Feb so I can go jobhunting already. Have to start working... Never ending bills to pay. :D

yes i have my license already. after ny get the cvs.. it will take 8-10 weeks for you to wait before they issue the license.

wow thats such a long time :roflmao:... So the NYSED did not receive your PRC documents at all, but still approved your NY license?

no prc.. even cgfns didnt sent a form to prc because they waived it. the document that was sent by cgfns to ny is jist only from my school. youll be fine and gonna have ur license soon.

I wonder why they waived your prc because mine, they didnt. My PRC status is "waiting to be received". The only thing they waived on my CVS application is the NM and TX licenses that I declared because they are able to verify those two thru Nursys online. My current CVS status is Ready for Final Review.

Guys,

I have been verified by the CVS of NY last Aug. 2007. I want to know if the verification is still valid if I applied for an NCLEX today? Thanks.

call them for more accurate answers since you have it for sometime. They will give you a more accurate response.
