I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
I am Taiwanese Nurse who experienced of OR almost 4 years, I have some questions ;
I sent my CVS form for credential to CGFNS 3 weeks ago, then they told me about received CVS form already ;
but at the same time, I sent some form and draft ( USD143 ) to Nurse of NY, after 3 weeks later, I e-mailed to them about check whether they received my draft or not, but didnt receive any reply.
Q1 : How long will I know they receive my application form and draft of nurse New York ?
I am worry about my draft is lost ....
Q2 : How long will I get my ATT this year ?
Q3 : Have any recommend books about KAPLAN, Lippincott's and Saunder for prepare NCLEX-RN exam ?

CVS can take up to 6 months but a lot will depend on how timely CGFNS receive documents and then NY review can be another 1-2 months, this is a rough guide
My CGFNS CVS process took 9 months before report finally submitted to NYSED ..... Im already here in NY, without a job but with bills and everyday expenses to pay:dead: .. waiting for RN license reciprocity to NY. The guy from NYSED said it will take another 6-8 weeks wait for them to give a decision.
I submitted my application to cg last year Aug 2015 and I received an email from them last month Feb 2016 that its already complete. When I checked the status online, it shows that Order Status: Report Issued.
Everything was complete except my School status says, Waiting to receive. But they already submitted it to the NYED BON. Now I don't know what that means. Do I have to wait from NYED BON for 4-6weeks for any result? Or just apply right away to their website and print the 3 forms while waiting from NYED BON? Please let me know whoever has an idea about this kind of weird status. I appreciate your help. Thanks!

I also submitted mine last August 2015 and until now they are still waiting for the documents they needed. It's so frustrating. When I called CGFNS I asked what will happen if I reach the 180 days due, they said they will just forward whatever they received in their office to NY BON and NY will be the one to decide for eligibility, which is very alarming cause its like they will just forward an incomplete documents that means its just like I'm on the cliff.[emoji17]
My file was forwarded already to the bureau of comparative education (COMPED) for the review of my school record. They are still processing February files right now due to backlog . Anybody knows how long the file remains in COMPED before it approves the school credentials and forwards it back to The Profession of Nursing unit? When does the once a month meeting of the dept of Nursing take place here... before the COMPED part or after the COMPED part?
Will receive my license number thru online verification in the next few days. Then receive the paper copy 7-10 business days after that. Give and take 11 months since I started the application is the total processing time to get a license number.
I sent the documents nedes for cgfns and according to the tracking number, it has already been delivered last April 7. However, it still says on my status that the documents are still waiting to be received. I tried to ask them about it (via the contact wizard) and they told me that it takes 2 business weeks before they process the documents they have received. I'm still worried though that they might not have received the documents. Should I just wait for the status to change? Was it the same to you? Did it take a long time before they changed the status of your application?
Hi, please help me. I am a fresh BSN graduate from the Philippines and I will not be taking the local board exam this December for I will be returning to NYC this July. I am a green card holder and I plan to take the NCLEX but I'm a bit confused with the CGFNS procedure.
Do I have to be a local board passer or not? I read on the site that its for registered nurses that's why I'm really concerned. Please share your experiences with the NY state.
