CGFNS-CVS New York process ?

Hi,

I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.

I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.

Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.

However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point.. :(

How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?

Please kindly suggest me !!!

I just came from PRC MNL earlier, they said they haven't receive the letter from CGFNS yet. I explained to the lady who assisted me that the school already received the letter from CGFNS how come they haven't receive the letter since based on the CGFNS, they've sent the verification letter to PRC and my school on the same day.. The PRC staff said that the said letters will come from a law office in Makati, and they will be the one who will forward it to PRC manila. I was confused by her explanation but told me to wait and they will process it soon as they receive the letter. I am also worried on what will happen if it reaches 180 days... But upon patiently reading the previous comments on this thread, some one said that the school credentials are more important than the the prc documents..

to anyone going thru or will go thru the cgfns-cvs, 5 words: R E L A X

the worst thing about this is HANDS OFF WAITING.. yes, you have to wait.. this is a cgfns-institution process only for ny.. that being said.. when you fill out all your papers/etc, cgfns will contact your institutions (school/prc/whatever) and that's it

hands off. wait. after 180 days, cgfns will forward whatever they receive to the NY BON for Evaluation..

all cgfns does is collect papers.. that's all they do.. then whatever they have, they send to ny bon. if ny bon needs further stuff, they'll contact you and you'll have to do whatever they say they need

99% of the time, the school will be fine and will send your official transcript.. the PRC (Philippines Nursing Board) is another matter entirely. This is a black hole. CGFNS won't get anything from them so just wait until ny bon contacts you saying they need your license/etc and then follow their instructions

Hi, guys. I submit 2 forms to cgfns, made payment and my status was " ready for processing ". How the handbook said Cgfns has to send 2 another forms to my school. I was waiting for that for 3 months, but they didn't. I found these forms in internet, filled the 1st part ( aplicant' s part) and send them to my school. School filled their part, attached my transcripts and sent the forms to cgfns. When it was happened, cgfns send me the letter that they send form to my school. Few days later my forms were delivered to cgfns, but my status still " waiting for required documents ". Do you think I am in trouble now, because I sent these forms by myself?

Hi. Does anyone have any idea whats the turnaround time for CGFNS to upload documents in their system once received. I've been monitoring my CGFNS account everyday and nothing happens. According to the tracking number of LBC express the documents was received by CGFNS last 10.17.2016, I've been trying to call them during working hours but due to the high volume of calls i was left waiting for almost half an hour (overseas call isn't cheap) . I hope someone can enlighten me on this. Do i need to resubmit my signed application?

Hi,

you should receive an email from one of the CGFNS team, advising you that they received the documents you forwarded. I sent mine through Fed Ex, after few days, I received a confirmation from the CGFNS team.

in my case, I received their notification within the same week, probably around 3-4 days after receiving the documents.

The new york state education emailed me 2 forms (nurse form 2f and nurse form 3f) with instructions to fill them up and mail afterwards to my school in the philippines and prc, respectively. Their email also says that cgfns was not able to complete the verification of my credentials in the philippines thus they will proceed withnthe review of my education until those forms are back and complete.

i called cgfns right away and asked them why was that so. They informed me that per nysed policy, complete or not, documents for a particular applicant must be turned over after 180 days. They informed me further that prc was not replying to the verification.

NYSED will undergo same process that cgfns underwent. What if prc will not reply again? i will be experiencing the ssme thing again. Money and time were being wasted. Please help who in prc philippines should i contact or how will i let them do their job?

Hi everybody!

I sent my paper for CVS in Apr 2016. That were tons of discrepancy emails issued by CGFNS throughout this period of time. After moving to USA and waiting for 10 months, my nightmare is this now:

1) my status is "READY TO SUBMIT" but the papers are incomplete, does that mean they sent an incomplete application to BON?

2) what is that mean "ISSUED REPORT" is "WAITING FOR APPROVAL" in this stage?

3) do you guys know any similar case as mine been rejected or approved by BON to set in NCLEX?

Pls help guys:blackeye:.....
