Why is it MEN seem to get along better in this field than WOMEN??!!!

Nurses Relations

Published

Hello this was brought up to me so now I'm sharing it with you all, I had a new R.N. nurse come to me in tears because another R.N. treated and talked to her very badly when she asked her basic questions, and in the midst of her tears she stated her brother was also a new nurse and doctors even help him when he had a problems she didn't seem to understand why women wouldn't like to help women, I have also seem to witness in this field men do seem to get along alot better than women, you will find a few nurses that will help you when in need but that is a very few, I don't know if it's due to the shortage everybody is overworked or underpaid, but we are killing the younger generation of nurses who do try and probaly will oneday make good nurses if they can handle the stressful enviroment any suggestions?

Fundamentalist Christians tend to believe a man is the natural head of the household and family. As i mature i appreciate the wisdom of this more and more, and can get past my own fears and 'feminist' tendencies to appreciate some of the innate differences in men and women. My personal belief is most men by their makeup are better decision makers, while women are better nurturers. Note I said 'most'. I know some women who make great leaders. To be honest, I find myself a bit afraid of them for reasons I can't fully explain...LOL!

While I as a female tend to look at a situation sensitively, sometimes this part of my nature can indeed override my commmon sense. My DH is able to wade through the sentiment to a sensible take on things. He does however, appreciate my POV. This is what makes men and women such suitable partners, IMO. We bounce things off one another to come to the best decisions....the good Lord knew what he was doing putting us in this fix together...LOL!

I enjoy my male coworkers greatly for the same reasons...altho we aren't married, they bring needed insight to our field. :)

THE MOODS OF A WOMAN

An angel of truth and a dream of fiction,

A woman is a bundle of contradiction,

She's afraid of a wasp, will scream at a mouse,

But will tackle a stranger alone in the house.

Sour as vinegar, sweet as a rose,

She'll kiss you one minute, then turn up her nose,

She'll win you in rage, enchant you in silk,

She'll be stronger than brandy, milder than milk,

At times she'll be vengeful, merry and sad,

She'll hate you like poison, and love you like mad.

THE MOODS OF A MAN

Hungry.

Horny.

Sleepy.

I'm not a young guy and worked in many different occupations. The best environments existed when there was a "good" ratio of men to women (subjective - it depends on group dynamics) and when I hired work release inmates. Regardless of their history, they were the most motivated and consistent workers I had. Yes, groups of felons were often more enjoyable to work with than groups of women. (Don't bother flaming me - I'm at the burn center already! :chuckle )

I am constantly baffled by the group dynamics of most all female nursing units. Why is it that they can't get along with each other? A group of guys will just set a pecking order and be done with it, whereas the women look like a bunch of plucked chickens pecking each other; peck, peck, peck.... all day long. It can be a real ugly scene.

Looks like I'm having fried chicken for dinner.

C'mon girls, stop *****ing at and about each other. Women are supposedly the tender, caring, and supportive sex. Add "team player" to that description and the workplace will be enjoyable. Nobody, especially men, like to listen to *****ing.

I think thats cool that inmates work better than other workers. It shows that the approaching mindset really counts. But, these inmates weren't working as CNAs were they?

Hi Gang, I just graduated nursing school and am taking a mandatory review class for NCLEX-PN.

Yesterday in class I had a situation where I couldn't hear the instructor and said something to the Tecjh in the classroom, earlier 2 of the female students said they couldn't hear the instructors either. The tech (female) said something to the class and of course they didn't pay attention. The Tech never said anything when i complained either. Come to find out today the Tech got the same complaint from the 2 ladies and when the ladies chimed in with the rest of the group, she didn't bother doing anything about it. So I contacted my instructor to let her know. Another faculty member came to the classroom and chewed the class, now I am the bad guy.

Well it didn't dicourage me and class is still going.

Have a good shift.

I am still waiting to take my boards.
