Yeah, our local news said they would be in the hospital for about 2 weeks. The smallest was 1 lb. 8 oz. and they were born at 30 weeks. Um .... we'll see about that!

Wow...that's all I have to say! I'm so sure fertility drugs weren't used though, :rolleyes: I don't get it the mom wants to remain anonymous, but yet they are all over the TV with the news....

It will be interesting to see how they do...esp that little last one!

There are too many women who believe having a baby will make their lives perfect so they risk themselves and their babiesby taking these drugs and expect a hand out and free stuff. They knew the risks when they got pregnant if you're not able to pay for eight kids, don't risk having them.

Sorry my life is full with out pushing out a baby.

I have a feeling that many magazines and TV shows are competing for the exclusive story about this. You can bet that the parents are already negotiating for big bucks (not that I blame them), and have been advised to keep mum with any details, so the magazine (People?) or TV show (20/20?) will have the scoop. They're certainly going to need the money to raise what is now rumored to be a total of 14 kids. Well, better the media pay for their upbringing then the taxpayer.

Wow. Sounds like you have a little pent up hostillity?:icon_roll We don't know this family's motivation and we never truly will. It is a little ridiculous and judgemental to suggest they went through IVF just to score some free diapers from BabiesRUs, doncha think?

Although I will say I have met several families of twins, concieved naturally or otherwise, who are quite surprised that their first year's diaper's and formula are not going to be free. In our town triplets have become so common that they have stopped gifting to them as well. They get 1 free case of formula per baby and that's it!

While I think fertility treatments are great for those who really need them, I'm afraid that too often treatments are started too soon. I thought the standard was a year of failing to conceive meant there was need for intervention. Now it seems women are off birth control and right on fertility treatment. I know a woman who went on fertility hormones before even a trial period without birth control. She said she was ready and did not want to "wait". She is now pregnant with twins. She swears this had nothing to do with the treatments despite the lack of family history. Oh yeah and she is a NURSE!
