Montefiore- Interview Process

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi all. Was hoping someone could help describe the interview process to me at Montefiore. I am a new graduate, and have an interview with HR this week. Do they hire right on the spot after the interview with HR? Also, if I am hired, I'm curious about what the orientation process is like for new graduates. Any help/advice/comments would be great! Thanks :)

estrella how much does the clinics pay if u dont mind sharing?

I was just making a point that most of the time, hospitals hire people who know someone before they hire people with no connections. I don't get why Montefiore constantly posts the same ads, one of which requires no experience and calls so many people to interview when there are not enough jobs. You would think they would stop interviewing. Though its been 3 months since some of us interviewed, HR says they are still trying to schedule us for interview with nurse manager. Makes no sense to continuously post ads and interview people if people from months ago that you are still considering are still waiting for second interview.

As for clinics/other programs posting for RNs, pay is in the $50Ks and includes full benefit .

I agree that is a tad bit ridiculous. I got a call today scheduling my 2nd interview so I guess you may be right about some of these things. I just don't get why they would do that, it makes absolutely no sense. The more they interview the more candidates they are going to come across so they are just going to end up wait listing a ton of people. I read somewhere that someone had to retake some tests after they decided to call her back 6+ months later, and ended up failing the second time around (UNBELIEVABLE). I would hate to be on hold for such time especially if they are insisting you are still a candidate. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I got a call for the 2nd one today also. What department you will interview with? I got called for Adult Medicine. The recruiter had said she would advise me for Pediatric or NICU due to my previous and current job experience so I was suprised that I got called for Adult Medicine. However my Senior Preceptorship of 125 clinical hours was in Med Surg so maybe that's why? I like Adult Medicine as well just surprised as I was told to expect different department.

Good news people are starting to get their second interviews, hope to get my call soon also. Good luck guys..

Nice!!! I am sooo happy for you estrellaCR! You have experience and they made you wait that long? How ridiculous. I'm a new grad pretty much. I will be interviewing for maternal-child health.

Thank u maataus...Good luck to u as well :nurse:

Well in terms of RN experience I have 9 months at a Pediatric outpatient clinic. Before that (non-RN) 4 years as a child development associate for babies/children with disabilities. So my nursing and non-nursing experience is heavily maternal/child which is odd how I got called for Medical Onc instead of maternity/peds/nicu/etc. But Im open minded and will see what the NM informs me about the Medical Onc unit at the interview though the stereotype/what I heard for coworkers who used to work in Onc is that is very sad as clients are very ill.

Good Luck!

Maatus, seems they are calling in order of HR interview date. So you should get called soon after me. Good Luck also!

Ooh wow...hey at least we are moving along

Yeah the recruiter actually told me its a waiting list and they go accordingly. So hopefully I get a call soon! Thank u guys
