  1. CONGRATS on the job! How are you liking it so far? Any tips on applying and getting hired? I took the tests (100% on both) and interviewed in 2013 then the job opening was given to an internal applicant and I was never updated on anything. I kept contacting the recruiter, who eventually left and have not had a chance to re-interview still. Any tips would be appreciated. Also do they provide 100% tuition reimbursement still?
  2. No prob just don't over do it =) its yearly i think like $35 not much $ at all they tell you which one to get
  3. You will be instructed to get it on your own from nso.com all info will be given at orientation.
  4. I would definitely not leave but I would definitely consider part time at Montefiore even though I'm beginning to question their level of professionalism. Im so happy for you and wish u all the best at your new job. =)
  5. How exciting! Start date is the same at Monte! Have you heard back yet? I got tired of calling the recruiter...
  6. For those of u who are waiting Maybe you will hear something next week because students are on spring break I believe. As far as the math tests go a couple of them you will be allowed to use a green card with formulas on them. A lot of employers give you a math exam before even allowing you to interview. You can use a calc but dont get too comfortable with calcs because some jobs give calc free exams so it would be nice to be strong in math. Sample type of questions are conversions: kg to lbs and vice versa, oz to ml, g to mg. also safe dose calculations for pediatrics, concentrations, how much of a med you need to draw up or administer, etc.there are plenty of sample questions online too if you need practice...plus if u fail the math tests they remediate and you have 1 more chance to pass
  7. If u have to do anything i would review math. There is a math assignment assigned before school starts. If u can i would go over a&p now just so u can have a strong foundation for 104 (1st med surge) in january. We lost a lot of students in that course. Other than that 101 and 102 are easy basic things u don't need to review ahead of time. Best wishes
  8. Did u start yet? How is it?
  9. I absolutely love it! They are super motivating and really incest in training us. I definitely want to stay there for a while and then try for a l&d, ob position there
  10. No problem Marcus and goodluck wannab. I don't think they do it that way, knowing them they are probably still reviewing
  11. I worked in healthcare before and during school. During school I worked in a hospital. When i graduated with my bachelors i worked for a private dr, before moving to the hospital setting.
  12. By the way thank u and good luck to all accepted and those waiting. Those who didn't get in don't give up on your dreams.
  13. I did the accelerated program and I worked the whole time. In January for 104 (first med surge) I cut down my hours to 24 a week but I was able to maintain that for the most part, it wasn't easy. Also I wasn't an A student, I had 2 As and the rest solid Bs and B+s. its a tough program at times can be frustrating but they are making improvements and for the most part the instructors are great esp the new ones. I really only had major complaints about 1 but its what you make of it. The clinical experience is irreplaceable and one of the best things about BHSN. There is a thread which is very detailed about scheduling, books, etc one of my classmates made
