i took my nclex yesterday and ended up in 76 questions, went home and got the cc page in PVT. everyone in this forum who got the cc page end up failing. i am so devastated but i have to move on, i admit that i did not focus well on studying thinking that nclex is same as the Phil board exam, plus i have 2 jobs, so i did only 100 questions a day. i am doing saunders 4th edition, the 5th ed cd, kaplan review book and PDA but still i failed. now for those who failed and passed, could you give me some advise? i am planning to stop on my other job just to study for this nclex, i will be taking it again within 45 days. i want to know if KAPLAN online course is worth the penny. hoping for your response. please lift me up... thanks

Will they tell us our weak points?

Will they tell us our weak points?

yes, they will send us a mail about the result of our exam, if you pass, you got the congratulations letter, but if you fail, they will give to you the information on which area are you weak of and for how many days will you apply for exam, from 45-90 days depending on your performance during the examination. it would probably take 2 weeks to one month before you can have the letter.

i just saw the kaplan review price, and it is WAY TO EXPENSIVE! a cannot afford it :banghead:

so this means i am totally failed?

Not necessarily. It means the BoN didn't get the results yet. You tried to re register too soon. Does your state participate in quick results?

A few tips in response to the NCLEX setback for all posters:

Let's take a step back and put it together.

NCLEX is to prepare the entry level nurse to be able to be competent in four key areas in being a nurse: Safe, effective care; Health promotion and maintenance; Physiologic and Psychologic Integrity. You answer the best question in the four key areas depending on WHAT the question is ASKING YOU.

1. Dust yourself off, wait for your results; if you didn't pass, look at what was below passing.

2. Plan out a comprehensive study plan. DO NOT CRAM EVER. This was one of the factors my instructors STRESSED over when we went over our board paperwork...it is not prudent to study too little and study TOO MUCH either, don't ever take that risk!

The max time to study the boards (if needed) is two months MAX. Since studying for one week wasn't enough, make it at least two months.

3. TEST ANXIETY. Must center yourself against this! As someone with test anxiety, I have a plan when I take exams...even exams for employment, lol. I utilize breathing techniques, focus on what the question is ASKING, and choose the best answer, that's it.

I did not pay for a review course. I could not afford it, so I used the Kaplan book cover to cover, Saunders NCLEX flash cards, PharmPhlash cards, ExamCram, LaCharity, NCSBN and Lippinicott. I used books, flash cards, and iPhone apps. I studied each source no longer than a week, cover to cover; Studied test yes toons an rationales, and by the six week mark, I was preparing NCLEX style tests to prepare myself and my test anxiety.

My preparation worked. I passed the boards .

Preparation is key...don't short change yourself. You passed nursing school. Invest the time in passing the boards.

Sending positive vibes on everyone's success!

I read Kaplan cover-to-cover twice here, paying very close attention to 'why your answer and not mine'.....just a thought.

the kaplan book seems boring. did anyone buy the HURST book?

I'm pretty sure it was the 90 day, but can't be positive. It was several years ago now.

So,

when i did the trick, it went to the CC page. Today I checked and my GN permit is not there anymore. What does that mean? does that mean 100% I failed?
