i took my nclex yesterday and ended up in 76 questions, went home and got the cc page in PVT. everyone in this forum who got the cc page end up failing. i am so devastated but i have to move on, i admit that i did not focus well on studying thinking that nclex is same as the Phil board exam, plus i have 2 jobs, so i did only 100 questions a day. i am doing saunders 4th edition, the 5th ed cd, kaplan review book and PDA but still i failed. now for those who failed and passed, could you give me some advise? i am planning to stop on my other job just to study for this nclex, i will be taking it again within 45 days. i want to know if KAPLAN online course is worth the penny. hoping for your response. please lift me up... thanks

To me kaplan was worth the money. I studied for about 2 weeks almost every day using just kaplan for a majority of those days. The last 2 days I used ati to study up on my content. I place my success on kaplan as I feel it helped me the most.

Good luck!

I also failed (in 75). I had done Kaplan live review, had scores in the 58% to 68% on my qt's and readiness. Still failed. I'm retaking it so I can't tell you what works without a doubt (and everyone is different) but I highly suggest Hurst. I think I partially failed from nerves and partially failed because I just had the questions and areas I did not know. I was prepared for the beasts like cardiac, electrolytes/fluids, etc. and I had no such questions. I had random maternity ones, and surgical procedures I didn't know. I like Hurst because I'm visual. They take you through each topic in a particular order and as you go you fill in blanks in their book (you print). They repeat and tie systems together frequently so you actually know it, you don't memorize systems. It has great Facebook reviews. Right now I'm going to finish up Hurst and then begin questions, once I know I'm good on content so I can understand where I went wrong and why. Then I can rewatch those vids.

Failing is awful, it's devastating really. But you can do this! My only recommendation is that everyone has advice (I've gotten so much and some contradicts others, everyone learns differently). I would review content even if you feel good with it (can't hurt to go in feeling confident, knowing you did your due diligence). Then questions. I'm doing Saunders. Hope this helps!

The pvt is not 100% in the failing aspect. I have seen people post that they got to the cc page and still passed so don't lose hope just yet! I haven't heard of it being wrong as far as giving you the pop up and you passing but the "failing" is not as dependable.

If you do need to take it again, I would definitely do Kaplan. I didn't do a class, just bought the book and it was very helpful.

Good luck!

i tried to apply again in the BON and this is what it says

This is an invalid selection. No record could be located showing that you are pending re-examination for this license type. Please select a different option.

It most likely means the BoN hadn't received your results yet as it hasn't been 48hrs post test.

Kaplan is a great idea. Where I went to school it was mandatory to take. They included it in the final semester as part of the curriculum, not only to help us but also to help themselves look better by ensuring great pass rates among their students. Good luck!

so this means i am totally failed?

yeah, i've heard that hurst is very good too. i'm still on my downfall right now, probably i will start my review within next week or after i got the official result to see if which area i am weak with.

Hi,

I am heart broken to know that I went to CC page. During my test I felt like I was going to vomit. I had to keep my hand on my mouth the entire time. I cried my way out of the building b/c I knew the test didnt go well but I still didnt want to give up hope. I checked today and say a bad screen.

I started studying for this in MAY and I used Kaplan 100%. I dont think kaplan was as great as I thought it would be. I also did HURST. I didnt attend the class but I did the videos at home.

I wanted to know from people who didnt pass the first time, what did they do different second time around.

Things that impacted my results:

1) studied to early for test

2) ANXIETY (killed me)

3) studied the night before the test (BIG MISTAKE)

thinking strong and positive. I can do this. WE ALL CAN :)

i did the exact same thing as you do, i did the cramming thing ( reading a week before and the night before exam) ... but i am still hoping until the official result is out, even if i fail i still need that result to know where is my area of weaknesses.
