A lot of Select All That Apply questions?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Okay, okay, okay! Let me get this straight, is it true if you get a lot of select all that apply questions on the nclex that means you're passing? Because I been hearing a lot of people say it's a good sign. When I think about it, I have a friend who only got 4 sata questions and she failed. Then I got another friend who got about 10 she passed. Is this myth true? How many of you failed the Nclex and only gotten a few sata questions? ? How many passed and gotten a lot of sata questions? ?Or did you fail and still get a lot of sata questions? Or who passed and only gotten a few? Let's take a poll on this one. Write back with your responds.

I passed with just 5 SATA's out of 75 questions. Thought I was failing because I read a lot of post that they had tons and tons of SATA's and that's why they passed. So, for me SATA or no SATA doesn't matter.

The SATA's are just alternate question types. I find out though alternate questions that ask for signs and symptoms always pick the objective never the subjective. Have a good journey.

I just graduated April, 15th and I test in a week on May 11th. From my understanding of what my instructor and the review course told us was that if the questions are getting harder, you are doing well. She has told us all year that you want to see the questions get harder.

She could be wrong. Who really knows.

Besides that, different people have different perceptions of easy vs. hard. I remember in school for some reason I didn't do as well on the tests everyone thought was easy, but the difficult tests that everyone else failed... I got the best scores on.

They do say the questions get harder but what they really mean is the type of question you get changes when you are reaching passing level they are the analysis and application questions. Yes , this is all a matter of your perception. I studied alot, I did 300 or more questions a day for a couple of weeks before I took the test. visualize yourself passing the test and tell yourself everday you will pass this helped me find the courage to take the test. Remember instead of choosing the right answer eliminate the worng answers. Did you do kaplan where you use the decision tree? Things like physical or pyschosocial equals physical needs over psychosocial needs then use maslow's if all the answers are psychosocial. Do not forget the family component to nursing care. Know your signs and symptoms and if the question is an sata asking for signs and symptoms please choose all objective never subjective since it is a matter of the patients perspective. Do not overwhelmed if you have a lot of sata questions just lean back close your eyes for a second and focus. You could also get all 265 questions this means nothing from what I understand you could be just passing or even just under passing. I also recommend checking your licensing agency online a couple hours after the test. I knew 6 hours after the test that I had passed based on the good pop up when I tried to re-register for the test and it would not let me.

Good Luck

It's NOT true. I got over 20 SATA questions in my last test and failed! It's just a form of questions like Silverdragon102 said ( and I hate them!:down:).

I haven't taken my test yet. The passers I talk to say they had lots of SATA questions out of minimum number of questions like less than 100. As you get answers correctly you are getting harder and harder questions. As SATA questions are considered harder type, that means you are much likely above the passing line and getting such questions. Too many SATA out of 75 questions show you are climbing up pretty quick and get done at 75.

Well, people saying they had lots of SATA but didn't make it usually get lots of questions, as I notice. Of course it isn't same to get 30 SATA in 75 questions and 30 SATA out of 200 questions.

I just took mine today and out of the 165 questions I received... I got NO other non multiple choice type questions,except 4 math questions and about 40 to 50 SATAs!!!!! (and i'm sure I got almost all of those wrong) I got like 6 in a a row a few times... It sucked (just started a thread on it)! But I did the PVT and I got a good pop up! Time will tell!!!

To bump up this thread, as I just came home from taking my test.. I was "traumatized" as the majority of my test was select all that apply. I'm scouring this website to see how many people came out with a ton and passed. It's hard to feel confident with those.

The test did shut off at 75 which left me thinking, I either did really well, or I did really bad. All I kept thinking about throughout the test is I must be getting these wrong, and that's why they keep giving them to me. I tried the pearson vue "reregister" trick and it wouldn't let me repay for the test, so my fingers are crossed.

SATA is a definite sign!! I just graduated from a school with a rep for being the hardest in the area. All of my classmates that i kept in touch with finished in 75 with 15-30 SATA (yea seriously). I would guess i had about 25 SATA, including RUNS of them, like 4 in a row!

SATA = PASS

I just took my test and i got 39 select all that apply or drag and drop questions. It was insane! and very annoying.... but i passed at 75 so i guess that was a good sign!
