  1. The ATI exams are always easier than the practice exams... and in my opinion, NCLEX was easier than the comprehensive predictor!! I mean think about it. You take the practice exams first and score low... so now you study twice as hard bc u think you will do terrible. Now you do well on the exam bc you were so well prepared. Same thing with NCLEX... the practice questions are so hard to get you to over-prepare and do well on the exam. ATI only makes money if ppl pass NCLEX, so this is how they work it in my opinion. I always got around 60-70% on the practice exams and ended up with mostly level 3's on the exams. Got a 58% on the practice comprehensive predictor and ended up with a 98% chance of passing NCLEX on the real exam. To finish it all off I passed NCLEX with 75 questions.
  2. I took NCLEX-RN yesterday and found out that I passed today!!! I had more thatn 30 SATA questions and my test shut off at 75.
  3. My hospital is the same, only one nurse that scrubs regularly. All of the rest are scrub techs. As far as LPN or RN question, in my area, it is extremely hard to get hired in a hospital as a LPN. Pretty much all the LPNs in my area work in LTCFs. If scrubbing is all you are interested in you might want to look into becoming a scrub tech. But if you really want to be a nurse in a hospital I would say the RN program is your best bet. You might want to see if your local hospitals have online job postings or talk to their HR dept to see what they hire in your area. I am a nursing student and am currently working in the OR and learning to circulate. All our nurses are RNs and I will say that they all scrub from time to time, but honestly why would a hospital pay an RNs to scrub when they could have a ST do it for far less $$. Good luck and I hope you find the OR position thats right for you!
  4. Ivy Tech nursing classes do not transfer to IU. I dont think they transfer anywhere but I do know that IU has an amazing Nursing program as well as a high NCLEX pass rate. I was at Ivy Tech for 1 semester and am now a junior at IUN. the only thing that I dont like is that classes dont run through the summer, at least at IUN.
