wish me luck!!!!!!! taking the nclex on august 18!!!!!! help!!!!! think im gonna have panic attack!
Use everything you can get your hands on. I took 3 review courses: Fuers, Drexel's and Kaplan's. Kaplan's was the best. I also had audiotapes, VCR tapes, DVDs and many books. I passed the NCLEX after passing my Canadian boards 20 years ago.
A good fundamental knowledge of pathology is invaluable. I read Isac Asminov's A&P in my relaxation time. He makes it interesting.
A lot of the exam seemed to be psych. Remember open ended questions.
A lot of it seemed to be aimed at assessment.

try kaplan 2007 book. it helped me passed my 2nd retake. after reading it, that was the time i was able to know how to eliminate the wrong choices as well as answer the correct one.
You can do this! I think the most difficult thing about the NCLEX is the "best answer" part of the equation. Don't overanalyze. Go with your gut instinct.

Hey...I just took (and failed) for the second time...although I did a lot better this time around according to my NCSBN report, I now know what to expect for the "new" format that came out April 1st after my first attempt. I CANNOT stress enough....practice PRIORTIZING!!! Although I wish I had just imagined it, there were a TON of them! Whatever you can get your hands on that covers this, I highly suggest practicing...can't hurt right?! I just bought a book for about $40 at Barnes and Noble called "NCLEX RN REVIEW" by Margaret Dahlhauser (2007) that has practice questions in the book and on the CD-ROM about priortizing care, just in case you want to know. I think it will be a good tool for practicing that part of the exam. I really didn't seem to come across any other books about specifically priortizing patient care except for this one, hopefully this helps.

I used KAPLAN NCLEX-RN 2007-2008 edition, SAUNDERS and PRINCETON REVIEW to help me pass. All were beneficial with NCLEX sytle questions CD's. Good luck!!
