  1. Thanks so much....I just needed someone to be straight forward with me....appreciate it!!
  2. Does anyone else have any advice? I still have 2 1/2 weeks and I feel like I'm all over the place. I have 3 review books, online Hurst review notes, and 2 Q&A books with CDRoms.....I think I have too much!!
  3. Thanks so much....I really needed to hear that!! I guess I'll do that.....I always make things more difficult than they really are, so something that simple, maybe I can pull it off this time.
  4. Priority/delegation.....Fluids and Electrolytes....lab values.....Infection and Safety control/precautions...........breathe, take a break, do not get frustrated, keep calm
  5. Hmmm...that's interesting. I would think you would change the bag as well.
  6. Yes....please remember....if you take extra breaks, this WILL count against your time!! Crutches hey.......hopefully you'll get the crutch walking questions right!! lol
  7. Hello everyone!!! This question is specifically for those who have passed the NCLEX using the online Hurst Review....other comments are welcome as well. I'm looking for a study plan. This will be my 3rd time taking the NCLEX...and hopefully my last.....about 3 more weeks!! I have watched all the online videos and have begun reading over my notes...which is going kinda slow since I want to memorize everything!! Just wanted to know what study plan you used....did you read over the notes over and over, did you make flash cards, etc. Please let me know, I graduated in December and I am SO ready to get this license and stop studying!! Thanks so much in advance!!
  8. Actually you DO get a new ATT
  9. I've said it in a couple of other posts but just wanted to spread the word. If you haven't taken the NCLEX yet, or haven't retaken it since April 1st...please read!! I'm sure most of you have heard that the NCLEX has a "new" format. I just wanted to let everyone know that you MUST study Priority questions. For example, "You have just taken shift report, which one of these clients would you assess first?" or "You need to make a bed available, which one of these clients would you discharge?" I have recently taken my NCLEX for the second time...the first time was before the "change" and I couldn't believe how many prioritizing questions there were! I didn't pass AGAIN, but now I know FOR SURE that I must study priortizing...and I cannot stress this enough. Good luck to those who are getting ready to take the NCLEX, I don't feel like I should give you any advice since I haven't passed yet, although I did MUCH better according to my NCSBN report....but if I could give you ANY advice....STUDY PRIORTIZING patient care!!!
  10. Hey...I just took (and failed) for the second time...although I did a lot better this time around according to my NCSBN report, I now know what to expect for the "new" format that came out April 1st after my first attempt. I CANNOT stress enough....practice PRIORTIZING!!! Although I wish I had just imagined it, there were a TON of them! Whatever you can get your hands on that covers this, I highly suggest practicing...can't hurt right?! I just bought a book for about $40 at Barnes and Noble called "NCLEX RN REVIEW" by Margaret Dahlhauser (2007) that has practice questions in the book and on the CD-ROM about priortizing care, just in case you want to know. I think it will be a good tool for practicing that part of the exam. I really didn't seem to come across any other books about specifically priortizing patient care except for this one, hopefully this helps.
  11. Thanks for the advice everyone...can't retake it until July 13, I suppose I should start studying again now. Good luck to you Megster...hopefully, third time is a charm in both of our cases.
  12. Saunders and ATI........I know my ABC's, I just don't think I'm a very good test taker....apparently.
